Sofrider II- repair frozen front shock?

The front shock on the Sofrider II I just acquired doesn't seem to compress at all, and I gather that this is a common issue. I found some discussions on the forum about fixing this, involving taking apart the headset, but that sounds above my pay grade. Is this something a LBS could likely fix - or should I forget about it and get a fatter front tire if needed for shock absorption?

You're not missing much. I disabled mine on a quest and ride was much better.

I have a QX100 and the conversion kit in my avatar - neither have front shock, both have reasonable sized tires and no issues with that. I would leave it. The hardest part is convincing myself that the smallest "improvement" can be just left alone!
