Sofrider V2 700C Upgrades

Hi,

I am planning on purchasing a sofrider V2 in the next few weeks. I would like to do the following mods:

1) change the wheels to 700c rims with bike planet fenders - what brakes should I use?
2) change the cassette from 8 speed to 9 speed

Has anyone done this?

Hi Rome,

I have done most of this in pieces, on multiple bikes.

The SRv2 will accept 700c wheels very nicely. You will need a set of road calipers to install on the front fork and the rear swing arm, on the brake bridge provided.

The cassette change is straightforward; I am using an SRAM 11-34 9-speed cassette on my SRv1 prototype. You will need to change the right shifter to a 9-speed Shimano-compatible shifter. The freehub body will accept anything that's Shimano-compatible.

Hi Doug,

Thanks for your speedy response. Do the bike planet fenders clear okay with the 700c wheels? Also, are the rear racks that clamp only to the seatpost work okay with the sofrider?
