The Blue S40 Build

Hi,
Not having built a bike before I have just received a lovely Electric ? Blue S40 Frameset in Wales, UK. Can't believe it was delivered in 4 days. I can't that in my own country!

I am currently ordering parts. I hope you don't mind what you guys probably think are stupid questions, but there will be a few. Here is the first :)

Do you know what type/ reference of the TRP Spyre mounts I need for 160 rotors?

Thanks

Sorry Matt, I am not one of our members who can help with build questions. I just want to say congrats and welcome to the tribe. Also, you have one of the best looking frame colors. :)

Hi Matt, welcome to the club.

Remember, there are no stupid questions, just stupid answers, and we can provide them if needed! ;)

Seriously, there are lots of threads in the forums written by folks doing what you're doing, and don't hesitate to ask; you will definitely get answers!

Good luck!

Best,

Doug

More help please! I know it will probably become evident later on in the assembly but do I remove the black piece on the Eagle Derailleur before fitting the cruzbike mounting piece or dos it go over the top? See pic

It goes over the top i.e., you mount the Cruzbike derailleur hanger then the derailleur. The black piece should be pushing against the protruding lip on the derailleur hanger. It is what provides the ability to adjust the distance from the top cog to the top jockey wheel in the derailleur.

Excellent, thank you for your help and explanation

Off the long run
Now then, Look you! Welcome to the tribe and ask away. I'm only just the other side of Bath if you really need to put hands and eyes on something. I've got a Gen1 S40 but hopefully enough is consistent to still be useful.

Hi McWheels. Good to know there are others out there not too far away. I am from Gloucester originally so go back to visit family (covid dependant!) that way. Perhaps we could meet when times are better?

We probably can. When things open up a bit more I'll be commuting into Filton, and 2 or 3 days a week by bike all being equal.
