Tufo tubular clincher tires

I experimented with Tufo in my before-Cruzbike times. I did like how they fit well onto the rim and stay on when flatting. I got two flats, each time after hitting a rock. You can ride on it that way, but I ended up doing some walking and calling. Would tubeless sealant have helped? There is no repairing these. With a third (and final) attempt I had a tire that wore down to the casing after maybe 1000 miles on gritty roads.
Even though there may be a safety margin by having the flat tire stay on the rim, but can’t recommend them.

I just received two Schwalbe One tubulars, 30mm wide which is the most my Silvio 2.1 can handle. They were $50 each (half off) directly at Schwalbe. Shipping was $10.50 and I got it in four days on a Sunday. I will use Tufo tape to mount them, not the dreadful three-step method with liquid glue.
BTW, for my front wheel I had to file out the fork to make it fit.
