Under Seat Steering?

I was asked today:

No models with USS? Convertible to it?
Thanks,

My reply:

Thanks for your question.

I ruled out USS. Riding with USS would be very very like running with your hands in your pockets on my designs. I did test some directly connected USS bars and found very arkward inteference with the legs when you want to put your foot down. I also repected the reports of my close design collegues who after riding a long wheelbase recumbent with USS and being passed by a truck and suffereing the wind buffetting - immediately returned and trashed the USS system. Arms down by your sides have little strength to offer. I can see that if your arms have nothing to do they might be more comfortable by your sides, but that is not the case on my bikes. My bikes engage the whole body, so achieving muscle fitness and conditioning over the entire body, not just the legs as in other bents. That is why arms need to be where I put them in my designs.

Best,

I can attest to the upper body fitness you achieve riding a Cruzbike. I can really feel it in my arms and shoulders after a strenuous ride.. It was more noticable when I first started Cruzing, of course, but I can still feel it after a day with a lot of hard climbing.
