New K1 Air RR1 on my QX100.

Had to move one of the rack mounts and also add spacers to the rear fender anchor.

First ride impressions are that it’s very quiet; less bouncy than the stock and smoother over all sizes of bumps and pot holes.

I weigh 210 and have the mp set 150 and the np set at 125.

How has your air shock performed over time?

Any maintenance requirements/issues?

I have a QX100 and I am thinking of doing this also.

Not so far. Maybe I’ll check the pressure one of these days but it hasn’t lost enough to notice.

Do you have a part number, size and where you purchased your shock? When I search K1 Air RR1 I get a KS A5 RR-1 is this the same shock?

Yes. A5 RR-1

There’s been a ton of discussion of this in this forum. Unfortunately you can’t use the forum search (gives the word-too-common error, possibly not with quotes). But search Google for Cruzbike A5 RR-1 and you’ll find them. All the info you need.

It’s been while since I had an older Q, but I think that one took a 125mm shock, which is less common. The Q45 takes 165mm.

I ordered both of mine from a Chinese company I’d never heard of, with half an idea that I’d lost $75, but it arrived in the mail in about 3 weeks.

Definitely get one! It's a big improvement!

I may have an A5-RE in my parts box, 125mm for the Quest and QX100. It's also an air shock. but has only one inlet. I'll check and let you know.

I have an A5-RR1 on my Q. Honestly can't tell much difference. Both are much better than the stock shock.

I have to tell on myself, though. The A5-RE had been doing great, and then it went flat and wouldn't hold air. After multiple attempts, I gave up and ordered the RR1. Only after it was too late to cancel the order did I think to check the valve core...and sure enough, it was loose. The RE held air fine after I tightened it.
