Used Vendetta For Sale

I'm selling my father's Cruzbike Vendetta. He was riding it about 20 miles, daily, before he developed Parkinson's. To me, it appears to be in good shape other than the chain, tires and tubes. Brakes seem to function. I know nothing about them, so I haven't tried riding it myself and shifting.

I have about a two-week window between now and when I move to Arkansas for a new job.

The bike is currently located in Lake Charles, Louisiana but I will be bringing it to my home in Gonzales, about 55 miles from New Orleans.

He's asking $3000. He told me it originally listed for $5000.

I'd welcome any comments or suggestions other than giving it away. ;)

Gary,

Take a look at some of the posts of older model Vendettas here:

The Vendetta for sale looks like the first model with hydroformed frame, maybe the V2.0, just before the V20. @LarryOz could tell you more.

Very sorry to hear about your dad. It sounds like he enjoyed riding this bike. I'd recommend taking it by a bike shop to get their assessment of what repairs it needs. I see what looks like rust on the chain and maybe rear cassette. It uses a regular bike drivetrain and brakes, so a good shop can help you even if they don't sell recumbents.

Thanks!
Oh yeah... To everything.
He loved riding. He believes he still can but his balance is way off. If he slowed down he's liable to fall over. His reaction time is virtually nonexistent.
The chain is definitely being replaced. And I'm taking it to a bike shop, tomorrow. They did a good job getting my Mom's Schwinn Grand Sierra, trailworthy again.

If he still wants to ride but can't balance, consider trading someone for a trike.

I'm not sure his 'ego' would allow that. LOL
But it's a good idea, but where he's living now, the 'road' isn't conducive to riding much of anything. I drive a truck and will take the longer route to avoid as much of the 'washboard' effect as possible.
