V20 Sizing Question?

On the new page for the V20, there is a reference to "custom fitting" when the bike is ordered, and the buyer is referred to the "bike fit" page where various leg, torso, etc. measurements are requested. Does anyone know what changes to a bike frame that these variables effect? Is it just the chainstay length or is there more?

Also, later on the V20 page, the specs indicate infer that there is a "standard" version and a "large" versions. How does this interplay with the custom fitting?

Thanks in advance.

Robert will probably chime in here with a lot more information, but unless you are extremely tall (thinking over 6'3") and with long legs, I'll be you will fit the standard size frame.
The boom is adjustable and can fit a very wide range of sizes.
I think the only difference in the standard and the large is a longer chainstay, so even if you end up ordering the "wrong size", which is very doubtful, you could probably just switch out the chainstay and be good to go.

The only difference as was indicated is the chainstay length. The sizes overlap, but a medium is the best fit in the bell curve for nearly everyone, unless you have an x-seam that is longer than 45" the bike handles better with the medium stay. If you ride a long stay typically a steerer extension is needed to raise the bars so they are not tilted into your lap.

There are a few riders that have the longer stay option who aren't bigger than the average person. Is there a reason besides fitting or comfort someone would opt for the larger sized frame? How much does the higher BB benefit in speed if at all? I've seen Ben Tomblin race with the longer stays and others as well. I'd be interested to know because I'll probably order my frame in winter to be ready for spring and need opinions on this. I'm in the 43" X-seam and 33-34" inseam range, which should permit me to ride either size. There's a difference in foot elevation making it a more difficult learning curve for someone unaccustomed to a Cruzbike if opting for the larger size, or so I'd imagine.

For what it's worth, my x-seam is 42.5 inches and I have the medium (normal) chainstay, which works perfectly for me.

What about getting the curved slider but having the curve go up instead of down in lieu of the riser?
Make a lot of sense to me. Sounds like this would be better than adding a riser extension, correct?

Also, on the newer Silvio, having the curve down to get the bars lower (for me anyway, something I've always wanted to do, but I would need to replace boom and slider and ?).
