Ventisit Headrest on CB Suspension Adjustable Base

I know the headrest on the S40 is optional, but I like the idea of having one. I could not adjust the stock headrest to fit. It was too far back, didn't hit my neck in the right spot and was way too bouncy. The suspension adjustable headrest was an improvement, but the foam padding was still too bouncy and the square shape just didn't fit my neck properly (it either hit the helmet or the base of my neck - not terribly comfortable). I replaced the pad with a short length of foam pipe insulation (much like a pool noodle) on a piece of aluminum stock with a cloth cover - almost there! It was less bouncy and I could put it in the right spot on my neck, but it made the back of my neck sweat profusely.

I thought it would be great if I could get the ventilation and lack of bounce of my Ventisit seat pad in a headrest. I went to their website and, by golly, they carry them!
I mounted it to a piece of 1/16" X 1 1/2" aluminum stock bent to match the curve of the headrest with the included Velcro and attached it with two 5mm bolts to the existing base. Its fairly secure, but just to make sure I added a zip tie to each upper corner. Its about as close to perfect (for me, anyway) as I think I can get. When I lean back it hits my neck just below the helmet adjuster and the bounce is so minimal I can ride that way without discomfort (it actually seems to act like a suspension!). Its a nice change up on longer rides.
