I'm currently running a set of Reynolds four’s from performance bikes, these are equivalent to the Assaults. The wheels have performed well coupled with GP4kII’s, I really have no complaints but have been thinking and that means $$$$.
I would like to acquire a set of carbon wheels no less than 44mm, DISC brake and tubeless ready and perhaps a power tap hub. I’ve read several reviews and find most of them to be in conflict with each other, perhaps vendor bias. The power tap hub is not a necessity but something that intrigues me at times.
I see where Boyd is now available via a new bike purchase but nothing where they can be purchased separately. Has there been any modifications to the wheel set in considerati0n of the torque of the MBB? This is one concern I have as I begin this education with various vendors. I assume one could always go direct to Boyd and ask the question, just haven’t yet.
Ive looked at zip 303’s, purdy to say the least, Mavic has a nice set with good reviews as well. I’ve looked at a cust0m set with Onyx hubs and Nox rims, really like what I see with these hubs. SES Enve Makes a very nice set that can be paired with the power tap hub.
Your ideas, thoughts and experiences would be appreciated.
