LITERAL hot feet

Hi Folks - I live in Phoenix, where it's gotten stupid hot. Most of my routes are either north-bound or south-bound. In this orientation, one side at a time is directly facing into the sun. My feet are quite literally starting to burn, I'm wearing shoes that I've always worn biking in every season and not had this problem. The burning starts on the far outside of my foot and creeps up a little part of the top. Is this something to just get used to or does anyone have a solution?

Thanks for any contributions.

Black or dark colored shoes are probably going to get hotter than light or white shoes because they are in close contact with your skin, so if possible you might want to try lighter color shoes during the Summer.

It is not so hot here in Indiana, but we just had a Heat Dome.

My strategies
1. More breathable shoes. Using my GiveTen Canvas shoes vs the faux leather clippers ones
2. More breathable socks.
Plain old white Hanes are doing well.
3. Ride in shade (this is a big one)

Stay cool
