This route looks FANTASTIC and will be an EPIC ride. I expect this to be a sellout for sure - this is the type of route that brings out EVERYONE who has always wanted to do this type of event. VERY stoked for this one.

I am thinking of riding E-W (right before the ride) just to experience it in peace and quite before the crazy begins. Anyone interested?

Larry it sounds interesting but you would have to allow me to tie rope to you to keep up. It won’t be crazy but intertaining

Just registered for RAGBRAI and for Brancel last night. Now only 141 days to get in shape! Any information about how large the Cruzbike group is for this ride? I am going to show up on my old Sofrider, and I am hoping that some kind souls will let me try out the other Cruzbikes. Thinking seriously about an S40.

By the way, in case anyone else is planning to go, the RAGBRAI price goes up tomorrow. I was a little annoyed at the mandatory nickel-and-dime extra fees: $5 postage to mail your registration, and a $16.50 "processing fee."

I will see if I can bring and extra one for you from the Cruzbike Museum and have it there for you to try and ride - and even purchase when we are done if you like

Ragbrai has lots of information on their website, but for those of us doing this for the first time you can go here and learn a lot:

I am slowly (perhaps too slowly) getting out on my Q-45 for training rides, but I am only managing a single 20+ mile ride per week. I am already dubious about the seat cushion. Near the end of every long ride, my glutes get sharp pains and my feet become numb. Yesterday at the end of my ride I felt around my seat cushion and the actual seat was entirely compressed. My pain was due to NO CUSHION LEFT on the seat. I find the seat cushy at the beginning, but painful at the end. What do people do about this? There is no way I will be able to ride across Iowa like this!

It sounds like the dreaded "recumbutt" that comes from having prolonged pressure on exercising glutes. Look here for more input.
Occasionally lifting your buttocks above the seat may help. Fortunately these rides have many places to stop along the way to get off the seat.
