S40 - a new beginning

Hello!

Long story short: passionate about cycling, ultra cyclist, Bechterew, going towards s40 to continue.

Still running gravel wheels on low pressure, once I'm getting more used to cycling I'm getting conti 5000 tl.

40km yesterday as maiden voyage, it was amazing.

Nice! When you are more comfortable on the bike, you might find that clipless pedals will be a good way to go. You will find discussions here where people go back and forth, but for me, since the feet are involved in the steering, being clipped in helps me feel more connected to the bike and the way it handles.

Also, do you have any clearance issues with your front derailleur? The angle of this pic makes it look kinda funny.

Yes I'm very eager to install. I guess that only then I can fine tune the beam length.

* cosmic carbon 45mm, 23mm inner width
* schwalbe g one allround 40mm
* tubeless

I have about 5-6mm clearance within the fork and plenty at the derailleur.

I'm really happy with the wide setup, roadbumps are still a bit sketchy to ride on.

Touring with the kids will help with handling and start/stop.

Thanks!! Awesome to hear you have room to spare on 40mm tires! I thought perhaps 38 was a max. Perhaps if you had wider rims (25 internal) those 40 wide tires would consume the remaining gap - but still fit?!

Happy with the handlebar position so now I wrapped it along with my bell.

Had to make a small modification to my seat to properly accommodate my Headrest.

Added some fluorescent tape.

Clip-in pedals are the only way to go .... IMHO

I have had that bell before, but be careful. Sometimes my clothes would get caught on it and rip the dinger off because I am an idiot and had it on the left side which is the side I always use.

Plus 1 for clip in pedals. Also, it looks like you have no mirror. That made a big difference in confidence for me but I'm quite deaf so don't hear traffic well.

Both a mirror and clip in pedals made a big difference for me, too.
