Excellent, definitely interested, but I'm not fully decided on a Thor. Why do people use Thor seats instead of CruzBike ones? Is it simply that they're so much cheaper, or are there some other advantages? What size is it? I would want a medium Sport.
I'm also considering a Thor seat since they're so much cheaper. Hadn't heard of them until this thread. I'm planning on cutting off most the seat from my Silvio 1.0 and mounting a removable carbon one for better packing and hopefully a bit more comfort.
I just had some more time on a Silvio with one of these and I decided I definitely want one. Feels both more comfortable and faster for me. I think these are long ago out of stock from Cruzbike, so hoping someone has one who isn't using it.
I'm thinking about doing RAGBRAI this year. I haven't committed yet and don't have transportation plans though. I'm guessing there's a chance it could be canceled anyways.
Saw someone on a black CruzBike (S30 I think) coming up Tunnel Rd yesterday in East Bay hills, Sunday 29th. I was going down the other way on a Silvio :)
Gear:
overnight
shelter: Bivy sack (OR Helium) if I do not expect rain. Tarp tent if I expect rain. Camping hammock if rain is reasonable possibility and I know there will be trees.
ground pad (Thermarest NeoAir)
down quilt if summer (EE Enigma) or down mummy bag if spring / fall / winter...
Wow has anybody here actually done this or have you heard of someone doing this and how it worked out? I'm thinking about something like this, but I think I'd need that seat modification to fit in this bag https://www.orucase.com/products/b2?variant=29128838905909
When I packed up my Silvio I...
Last fall I did a nice short tour on my Silvio in Idaho (~210m mostly on Trail of the Coeur D'Alenes). The worst part was disassembling, packing, and reassembling the bike. I'm thinking about doing some more touring in other states on the Silvio and I'm hoping somebody has some tips for checking...
Thanks, think I'll give these a try. Since I'm doing a bike camping trip this weekend I should drop my bike at the shop now actually. Not going to try to do it myself again just in case those don't fit either.
