Update: I am still riding and relocated a block of original Corsa seat foam forward under the Ventisit, seems better. replaced a stainless washer with recommended brass washer under slider clamp (prevents slipping of the slider I think). I am getting avg. speeds around 17.4 on my 17 mile lunch...
Yes it is mine, I have a love/ hate thing going with my Silvio and sort of decided to go with a Carbon Aero or something with 700c wheels. I just can't seem to get comfortable on this one.
Wished I could have been there to ride with you, used to go there on the weekends, but now usually ride at lunch time. Sounds like you are off to a good start with the new bike.
Thanks guys! This has been tough, trying to understand the fit and having several setbacks with three weld repairs, two components replaced, and a few cables. I am determined to make this work and hopefully have lots of fun riding somewhat fast.
Thought about the Vendetta frame after seeing...
I got my chain today adding 200 mm and played for several hours with adjustments to the boom and slider taking test rides. I think that I am getting very close to the fit I was looking for, but I found that one of the slider handlebar mounting tabs was breaking and will need to be welded...
I installed the 100 mm extension and removed 10 mm worth of spacer previously from the fork, got some new cables (will need one) and still waiting on chain (few more days from Niagra cycle works) , but definitely have a new look. I know that it will help with the recumbutt issue. thanks again...
I decided to tear the bike apart and remove the fork. I thought that I would just try to drop the 10 mm spacer so I removed what I thought was 7 mm, but was actually 7.6 mm with caliper, after the cut. I used tubing cutters and small files to smooth it out.
Maria Parker is sending me another...
I have found that on all the recumbents I have owned, the more layed back the harder the hills are to climb. my old V-Rex and Sun E-Z Speedster could climb better than my Corsa which is reclined way back.
Thanks for all the info Super Slim, sure hope this isn't necessary now. Requested a 100 mm extension from Robert and he got back with me last night ($80 worth) and suggested that I hold off on the spacer mod until the extension is in place as that will lower the handle bars. Maybe I will try...
Okay, seems like you are talking about an expanding fork plug, but I didn't think I would be getting involved with the Kind air shock. I guess you mean "If " It has trouble or looses air you could work on it still, correct? How little I know about some of these things, but how do you get it out...
Thanks for the comments super slim, and telephd. looks like I may end up doing both. I went out in the garage tonight and tried to put the 20mm spacer above the pivot clamp, but the stem butted into the slider bar so switched to the 10mm spacer above the clamp and that worked with a noticeable...
Okay, I have the 10 and 20 mm spacers that are listed on the Silvio assembly guide in the proper position. Seems like moving spacers on top could mess with all 4 cables being routed through the pivot clamp bottom a little? Maybe the extension would be better to lift the bb and get hip angle up...
