    Freerider to softrider

Thanks for the reply -- might Thanks for the reply -- might have to ask John (since I'm in Perth, Australia). All I need at the moment is the stem extension. Will check for the insert. Chris

    Freerider to softrider

I'd like to change the steering to a softrider style set-up, but how do I extend the stem? What kind of post do I ask for, and how does it attach? I looked at it today but I can't fathom how to `add to' the existing fork tube that pokes out about an inch. Chris

    My Q451 special

I love your videos on Youtube! Sounds like you do quite a bit of racing. I've only had one recumbent (Freerider) but dying to trying out others. I've always liked the look of the Q451 as well and wondered how it compared to other 20" wheel recumbents. Chris

    Project Luge

Cheers :) A low-racer would be fun - just not sure if this approach is practical. Lack of suspension would kill :) Image here: http://www.cruzbike.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=712&p=5408#p5408

    Xtracycle and the Cruzbike

I'm running 2.5 Maxxis downhill tyres (huge) which fit fine - so 700c might be doable if the 700c wheels have disk brakes.

    Bionx adaptation

Chain drives are very efficient, but, in my experience, a lot more maintenance to deal with. More at: http://www.flickr.com/photos/39342780@N00/sets/72157594349507671/with/387782883/

    Bionx adaptation

Performance wise or installation? At 36v, expect maybe 28-30 k/hr in a 26" wheel. Personally that's a bit slow for me, but nice for hills and headwinds. The bionx seems like a nice little system - I like the adjustable human/motor input. Hey don't forget I'm in Perth - you can test ride my...

    Xtracycle and the Cruzbike

I tightened the suspension up as much as I could - in fact a hard-tail bike would be fine because of the extended reach softens any bumps the back wheel experiences. Not sure about about frame stress - but it'd easily handle big loads - I dragged an old CRT monitor home on the back of it. I'm...

    Xtracycle and the Cruzbike

This is for discussion about the combination of the Xtracycle and the Cruzbike. Here's some sample pics and videos: http://au.youtube.com/watch?v=dtCj77zH_2A Photos: My own rig on flickr page. Another one found on flickr: http://www.flickr.com/photos/rockthebike/2041510534/
