I have one of these and its great. I have gone from a Quest 2.0 to S30 and it is much faster... but I have no way to carry anywhere near as much stuff on a commute as the rack I had managed + panniers on the Q. I keep trying to come up with come way to carry an A4 sized laptop but so far nothing...
I have a trip to Melbourne coming up and would like to pack my Quest 2.0 into luggage. I have 26" wheels. I would like to either
a) buy 20" wheels (including one with the internal gearing), tyres, tubes, so I can pack it in luggage I have, or
b) get a box/ luggage to pack it with the bigger...
rack for the Q
Hi Charles and Billy:
I think you might be right. I plan to tighten the rear suspension anyway to make the whole thing stiffer (again: any help to lock the front suspension...? maybe I'll start another thread on that as when I last tried to I got nowhere and am still living...
pannier capable rack
Hi,
I coped with the rack that comes with the Quest 2.0 for a while (somewhere here it's noted that the screw holes on the frame near the hub of the rear wheel are in a slightly different position on the newer models). I use it to commute to work every day here near...
Still nothing
So today I took apart the headset from the 'instructions' above. I was able to remove the handlebars relatively easily, and then out of interest (and a mild suspicion that I didn't know what I was doing) took off the upper "diatech" labelled ring clamp to expose the bearings...
loose front suspension
My Quest has white logos on it with a black outline around the lettering (like Fatall's- hello!).
I am quite tall (6'5", or about 195cm), and find that I set the BB adjustment to '12,' ie, as far as it says I can put it out. When I crank hard going up hills, even...
quest suspension
Hmmm. That makes it a bit of a problem, then. I find that either on a real bump or even on a smaller one at speed, that front suspension bottoms out with a real clank. Can you tell me, then, Doug, or maybe John T, would I be better off trying to disable it? I'd rather get the...
Answer! Gear Ratios for Quest 2.0
The Quest 2.0 comes with the SRAM dual drive system, which I really enjoy; and I have the 26" wheels. I have just conducted 25 minutes of internet research to find that in fact, it has a great 'top end' with a gear inch measurement of 135 (wikipedia shows a...
gear ratio
Since buying my Quest 2.0 and bringing it to work every day (and now getting out for longer rides as well, just for fun) I have been asked about this many times. The latest results with Maria P on the Vendetta (honestly, if I keep having this much fun, I may have to buy one of those...
Front suspension
Im also keen on this- I bottom out a few times ont he way to work. I've noticed it happens less when I lean WAY back, but I'd love to make it stiffer.
My solution... perhaps only temporary
I bought a Tioga bag from the local store over the weekend. It holds what I need it to, and may end up being my long term solution... we shall see. I am a bit concerned, however, that I will need some other setup if I ever want/need to start carrying more...
Quest experience- front suspension adjustment?
I have had my Quest for just about 2 weeks, and actually quite enjoyed the process of putting it together. My concern was that as a tall and heavier rider (100kg, 6'5") I might not be able to adjust the BB appropriately. As it turns out...
panniers/bike rack bags for Quest 2.0
I have put together my new Quest 2.0 about 10 days ago and now it is my daily commuter. It has been a bit of a learning curve but I am definitely getting used to it and loving it. It is wonderfully comfortable, starting to be slightly faster than my old...
