Thanks JerseyJim and McWheels! I think I need to visit my local bike shop to look at adapters.. But it's heartening that it looks like it will be possible with the correct part :-)
I'm considering fitting a TRP Spyke disk brake on the front of my Sofrider, and I'm trying to figure out if I need to order a front or rear, and what additional adapters may be required . I see there are some earlier threads about fitting disk brakes on Sofriders, but they're for Avid brakes and...
Ha ha, love it. You're right! I can't seem to escape this - people think I look like a circus bear on my Brompton, and I look silly on my recumbent too :-)
I'm sure an aftermarket seat would fit better, and I see a lot of people have fitted them to S40s and V20s*. But we're talking about bikes that cost $4,000++ here, and I find it offputting that Cruzbike doesn't offer seats in multiple sizes. Many (most?) other high-end recumbents offer seats...
Are there any S40 owners in the SF Bay Area that might be willing to let me test ride (or at least sit on) their S40? (I might also be interested in Q45 or T50 also, if you have those).
I have a Sofrider that I like (a lot!) I considering upgrading, but am uncertain about the seat size of the...
Wow, that's really nicely done! The structure reminds me of the seat on my old Challenge Hurricane - Challenge seats were aluminum, but similar in concept, and certainly comfy.
I tried looking at your old threads, but as far as I can see there's no write up about the seat. I bet a lot of others...
Your new setup looks great, rx7mark! I look forward to reading more about it as you gain experience with it. Have you noticed any increase in wheel spin from moving the seat backwards?
I have the Albatross bars on my Sofrider (see my avatar, or search for old threads started by me). Not quite an answer to your question, but the geometry/configuration isn't far off. The bar itself works great. As for stem length - you'll just have to try and see what works for you. I'm tall...
My Sofrider came with the stock double crank setup, and as a newbie rider I found it geared really high for general riding around San Francisco. One of the first things I did was to swap it out for a nice touring triple giving me a 24/34 low gear, and I actually used it a bit to start with. I...
Cruzbike eventually responded that nobody was nearby.. Oh well, I'll keep it at the back of my mind and wait for T50s to spread out more. I see the website says pre-orders are now shipping February 2018, so I shouldn't be surprised that there are so few in the wild!
Are there any T50 owners in the San Francisco Bay Area who might be comfortable letting me test ride their pride and joy? Or at least sit on it to try the fit?
I have a Sofrider that I've tweaked to fit me. I'm really tempted by the T50 since it seems like such a great platform for modding, and...
rx7mark - very nice looking build, have fun riding!
I think this confirms my suspicion that I'd need to use a custom seat. I need pedals at least even with seat (or higher) to produce any power.
