How has Zwift changed your indoor training routine?

I’ve been curious how everyone is using Zwift are you mainly doing structured workouts, joining races, or just riding casually to keep fitness during bad weather?
For those who race regularly, what has helped you improve the most: more intervals, better pacing, higher volume, or focusing on weight/power ratio?
Also interested to hear what smart trainers and setups everyone is running.

Hi Jonas. That is a broad question. I could type a book in response.
I have used Zwift in a variety of ways. In the beginning I converted TrainerRoad workouts, because they had a better training program, and did the workout on Zwift. Since then, Zwift has improved their workout library. After I rode on Zwift for other than race prep, I began exploring other Zwift items.
In previous years @trplay would organize teams of 3 different levels of ability and we would race and or time trial every Thursday for 3 6-week periods during the winter. It was nice to be a part of a team. During the summer (the Zwift off season) races were interesting to me. I would have the highest engagement. I would push myself to stay with the main group.

I use a Wahoo Kickr. It is pretty popular on Zwift, but not the only trainer. I also use Zwift play controllers. It makes the shifting nicer and enables steering and braking.

The weekly TTT's are still the hot event every Thursday night with gate drop around 7:30 PM EST. The Cruzbike Chicks rule the roost, but we catch them off guard occasionally. I'll see if Connie will post last week's race report. We are also rostering up for the WTRL Zwift Racing League (ZRL), starting in September. This is widely considered the best race series on Zwift. I know we Cruzbikers have a lot of fun with it. Like Cruzlike, most of our riders are on Wahoo trainers and have Zwift Plays or one of the forms of virtual shifting and steering.
