    QX100 Steering Mod

Rampa: speedymetals has may different sizes of OD, ID, wall thickness, etc to suit the needs of many projects, but they also indicate that telescoping tubes is not what they are trying to sell... .. .so I knew it would take some work to get the tube in "slider shape". I have been measuring...

    QX100 Steering Mod

That'l work out fine cause I'll ride down hill any time, in fact, on my Pacific Coast trip what kept me going on all the uphills was knowing that since I started at sea level in Seattle and would end up at sea level in San Diego then for all the uphills there would be equal downhills!. ...

    QX100 Steering Mod

Good tip Rampa, thank you, ordered one already to get it here all the way from China! Also I never even thought of the old tech quill stem. The power of brain storming is showing its force here with other's workable options.

    QX100 Steering Mod

This is a fun project for me! Don't have any time during my work week (I have Mon/Tue off so I'm off kilter with most peoples schedules so to speak). But i like riding when most are working as does one of my riding buddies. I knoe no pics it didnt happen. Sometime later i will have pics posted...

    QX100 Steering Mod

My ADEM headrest will be used, will need to transfer it's bracket from my Q to the X. Being ex-military equiptment tester (Guinea Pig) I have wondered if the X in QX100 meant experimental. For me it now does! Maybe subconsciously that's the reason I chose the X for this project! I have...

Slider tube clamp from speedwaymotors.com...This part fits the new slider tube but not the stock fork riser clamp, so may make my own (not as durable), find another slider clamp and/or fork clamp, or have one made. ...

    QX100 Steering Mod

I have started to acquire parts to modify the steering of my QX100 to be similar to the Vendetta and Silvio. I bought a 6061 aluminum tube from speedymetals.com (i'll post dimensions later), a fork riser clamp from CB, and slider tube clamp from speedwaymotors.com I already have a headrest and...

    A simpler Silvio?

"OD of tube coming from bottom bracket" of which are you after? I dont have a Silvio, but the Quest Q and QX100 is 1 and 3/8 inch. Not wanting to hijack this Silvio thread I am continuing my discussion of where im getting parts etc in the Q Brag Board on a new thread QX100 Steering Mod.

    A simpler Silvio?

1HappyReader: I saw the Vendetta/Sylvia like boom for the Quest in the Q Brag Board in thread Q Hybrid. I have been accumulating parts to do the same for my X100.

    First ride

The red ... that's the Piper saying "that's the blood I'm not going to get cause he's doing his skills practice." At least that's what I'm hoping since I have gotten stares from security at the local college when I practice figure 8s etc in their parking lot. Practice, practice, practice, then...

    New Vendetta V20

You can start the "laid back transition" by setting the seat angle on your X down, but you will need to get a head rest if you don't already have one on the X. An easy one to put on would be an ADEM HEADREST. You can even turn the seat tube bend down to get a much lower seat angle on the X.

    Robert's V20 build

I'm with you Robert since I both commute and tour fully contained. If I raced, saving grams would be on my list, but I need not just strength but the feeling of stability. Your bike looks GREAT!

    PacRak Question

Jaden, I'm did first as you are thinking, as I already had another rack that I could mount on my Quest but I needed to make a bracket to mount it. I made a bracket and mounted the rack and have used it to commute to work. It worked but when I go for rides on my weekend using only the rack top...

WTB - Luggage Rack & Headrest for Quest v3.0

Forgot to mention that there are also 4 settings for the seat pan to move forwards/backwards. This also changes the seat angle. I also experimented with this and found for me that setting the seat more forward works better. There are many variables working here to find which works for you but i...

WTB - Luggage Rack & Headrest for Quest v3.0

Be patient for a response as I'm sure they are busy but somebody always answers. .I have a Q3 but your seat probably adjusts the same way. In this pic as I currently have my Q set up look at the bracket connecting the seat back to the top of the seat post. I currently have 4 seat back angles...

WTB - Luggage Rack & Headrest for Quest v3.0

I recommend the Q Touring and Commuting Rack found on cruzbike.com/q-tour-commute-rack.html page. It is more aero and uses the shock suspension when hitting bumps. Check out the forum Q "I got mine" thread for a pic of this Rack on a Q.There is also a YouTube video on how to install this Rack...

    Creak in V20 front triangle

I've had 3 squeeks that I eventually tracked down. Two were spokes as Larry has indicated, the other was on my Q at the seat attachment nut that I fixed with grease (a squeaky nut probably would not hurt anything unless a squirrel heard it or if there was a nut doctor in hearing distance). I...
