    How about a Tandem!?!

No, of course it doesn't. Bill Patterson built one with a traditional seating arrangement with a lower bottom bracket for the stoker and I believe 20" wheels. Mark

    How about a Tandem!?!

Last night, my daughter and I went out on our road tandem (DF tandem). It's a high end bike and I used to think it was pretty comfortable. First off, I was all over the road. I've become so used to the upper body involvement of the Cruzbike that I had difficulty keeping my upper body out of...

    platform pedals

When making tight maneuvers, focus your energy into throwing your hips away from the turn and leaning into it. With the Cruzbike, most, if not all your steering input is controlled with the hips. These bikes will almost turn on a dime when you get the hang of it. Mark

15% hill climbing and very slow riding

Hi Don, I don't own a Sofrider, but I do ride a Cruzbike. In my experience, climbing hills of that degree can be done, but require excellent technique. You need a buttery smooth spin; mashing will always get the wheel to spin. If your surface is rough and or dirty, it will be tough. You can...

Great idea!! I like how the thread has turned to justifying the BROLers attitude toward Cruzers. Hilarious! Say.... Who's down for handing out sales brochures in front of donut shops?  Mark

Hey Yak!! Great to hear from you. I've always said that a bicycle was, to me, a combination therapist and health club. Glad you're still riding. Mark

Technique ideas for riding up steep hills?

John hit the nail on the head. Wider tire, lower pressure on the front. If the pavement is rough, then shock pressure comes into play. Smooth and steady pedal stroke. Are you clipped in? Mark

    First real ride

I ride at 20-22 mph, but that equates to a 17 avg when it's all said and done. Mark

    My new Quest is here...

Hi Murray, Congrats on the new bike. You're going to love it!!! Just curious... Your bike path has hills big enough to require your small chain ring? Mark

    RAGBRAI 2010

Seriously, RAGBRAI has been on my "to do list" for some time. In my opinion though, there are other cross-state rides that probably deliver more fun for your dollar without the crowds. Mark
