    RAGBRAI 2010

Lessee.... Standing in line for food.. Standing in line for a cold shower.... Standing in line to use a porta potty.... 13000+ crazy people on bikes.... Tempting as all that sounds, think I'll pass! Mark

I was thinking more along the lines of taking the brake off, shifting the rack forward, then reinstalling the rack. I don't know if there is clearance inside the rack for the brake to function properly, but I'd at least take a look at it. Mark

I like my racks to be level, as well. Wait... That didn't sound right! That looks like the best option I've seen for a rear rack; good find! Mark

From the pic, it looks like it could get more tire clearance, but it would be into the brake caliper. Still a nice rack, thanks for the picture. Mark

That Axiom rack looks really good. Could we see some detailed shots of the attachment? In particular, I'm curious how you connected the lower legs. Thinking about it; doesn't this arrangement negate the rear suspension? Mark

    Silvio Impressions

It's amazing, isn't it? My roadie friends complain because they say it looks effortless. They stand and grunt and groan while I happily pedal past them up the hill. Congrats on your Silvio. The fun has only begun. Mark

    cyclecomputer

I have a Cateye wireless on my Silvio and they are OK. I use a custom made dashboard that puts the computer where you could probably use wired one. http://www.cruzbike.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=193 mark

    Another Quest speed ?

There seem to be a few more choices, yes. I was not aware of this mini velo thing, but I googled it and... That is kind of weird! Mark

    Another Quest speed ?

What gearing do you have on your folder? It looks to me like the components are the same, regardless of wheel size. So, a 26" wheel should give you somewhere around 9.5 gear inches on the high end, where a 20" will only give you 7.9. It all depends on what you want to do with it. I could...

    Another Quest speed ?

I'd go 26" for several reasons: Ride quality, gearing and tire selection come immediately to mind. Jack, there are guys that would be fast on a child's tricycle. That doesn't mean you or I would be! ;)  Now.... If you are planning on packing and travelling with he bike.... I...

    Under Seat Steering?

I can attest to the upper body fitness you achieve riding a Cruzbike. I can really feel it in my arms and shoulders after a strenuous ride.. It was more noticable when I first started Cruzing, of course, but I can still feel it after a day with a lot of hard climbing. Mark

Are the 451 and 559 Quests the same bike but for the wheels?

Not the greatest picture, but you get the idea. Mark

Are the 451 and 559 Quests the same bike but for the wheels?

It's a different chainstay. The rear yolk is the same for either wheelset, I think Yes. If you look at my bike, my bottom bracket is considerably lower than Jack, or Tom's bikes. Not a bad thing, though I thought it could be. It's all in what you get used to. I put my kit on a 24" kids...

    New Sofrider

Hi Ed, The Sofrider will be fine on the dissected plains of Kansas. The motor, on the other hand... ;)  Seriously, if you are going to even think about doing this, you need to go ahead and pull the trigger so you can get some time in the saddle and miles on the tires. This is...

    pinch flat

Well, I guess the pinch could have just creased the rubber and it let loose later. I'm not saying it wasn't a pinch flat, I'm just saying that usually when you pinch flat, it goes immediately. You were lucky to go ten more miles! I had a flat on my bike when I got ready to ride home from...

    My 700c' wheels conversion

Re: My 700cc wheels conversion Good looking bike! The handlebar looks awfully low and..... cozy. You can't possibly sit up on the bike, can you? Nice job adapting the child carrier. Mark

    pinch flat

Usually, a pinch flat goes right now. 120 will ride like a lumber wagon, IMHO. Mark
