Spring is HERE!! lets see your RIDE!!

I finished my (slower than I finished my (slower than expected) Spring overhaul: disassembled some things, regreased some things, retightened some things, trimmed all the cables down to fit (no more thigh interference please), retuned, rewrapped the bars, and added a bag behind the seat (large...

That's a $500 increase in the That's a $500 increase in the Silvio price! "Modest" was not the word that came to mind. Some new goodness would be cool but perhaps demand is just outstripping supply and the goal is to slow down orders.

Routing Internal Cable Housing on the Silvio 2.0

I see you are putting the I discovered that while brake cable ferrules may seem to stop in the frame port holes, they will pull through once some braking force is applied. Is a "cable stopper" a separate part that needs to be added?

    Cable lengths for Silvio build

I finally got around to I finally got around to recabling. Here are the measurements I got. Hopefully these might be useful. As Ivan pointed out, actual lengths will depend on your adjustments. Specifically, how far out you put the handlebars (arm reach) will change the first housing...

    Cable lengths for Silvio build

Sounds like it's working well Sounds like it's working well for you Eric, but I just don't get it. First of all the cable donuts on the outside of my DF never stay put. Second of all, on the Silvio at least (the Vendetta looks about the same, I guess the cable stops could be located...

    Cable lengths for Silvio build

In a week or so I will be In a week or so I will be recabling my bike and then I could give you measurements. Before then, maybe someone else has them handy. The rear brake cable housing is potentially very long (much longer than standard) if you run a single piece of housing all the way...

    "energy-sucking handlebar-on-a-stick" ???

Dan, I didn't mind riding Dan, I didn't mind riding with bent arms. But yeah, to straighten out your arms you could go to drop bars (or bullhorns), and eventually you will end up with something like Steve's turbo Quest.

    "energy-sucking handlebar-on-a-stick" ???

If the steerer tube is If the steerer tube is actually twisting or bending, might lowering the handlebars on the steerer tube (which probably requires flipping around the stem toward you) help? This is how I used to ride my Sofrider since I didn't like having my hands so high.

Rich, on a Silvio where the Rich, on a Silvio where the handlebars are low, drop bars let you position your hands ahead of where your thighs come to on your return pedal stroke. So, they work out.

I agree with pretty much I agree with pretty much everything Bob said. I know talking about colors is a trap (way too much personal taste involved) but I will say the Sofrider in blue looks miles better than the old silver one I had, almost makes me want to buy another! The Quest in...
