yes the duranos ' ride is harsh too. long lasting but do not compare well in ride quality to the like of schwalbe one or conti 4000s. feel more like a gatorskin.

inspired by your avatar i would have to say that this 24hr effort was "no country ride for old men." creeps me out remembering the scene in the gas station and making the "call" on the coin toss. ( we call them petrol stations here downunda) thanks for the gutsy inspirational ride and sharing. :)

spinning allows similar power figures to be generated but at a higher cadence. the benefit being manifest on a long climb with preservation of glycogen store. this is why i prefer to spin up a decent hill (5-7% steady gradient over 1klm length) once my carry speed has run out. of course it helps...

be sure to use some old inner tube wrapped around headrest tube. insulate the connection between headrest and mount. i replaced the brass female boss on the mounts with a decent nyloc nut for longevity of the set up. so far so good. rock solid.

ha ha i did a 100klm ride on my local footie oval 400m track. i have never been the same since :) somehow i am glad i did it during my learning . it is a safe environment at least. finding an alternative is very difficult. flat is not our earth. unless you live in florida :)

yes when the timing goes astray so does the bike however with more seat time comes less whoah there nelly moments. till they one day almost disappear.

hi jim. i have seen steady improvement in my power figures (powertap hub) as i have gained more experience now 3500 klm on platform and arrived at a final bike fit. but i am yet to equal my DF figures. one problem is the bike is so fast and i cannot pedal all the time :) i am confident in time...
