Couch to Century in 12 Weeks: Week 12

Hi my name is <state your name>, I have a problems riding shorts distances. It all started we I did my first Cruzbike century now I can't stop. I get cravings for the endorphins and I get twitchy if I don't ride. .......

Farther, Faster, Fitter, Fun - (4F - The unofficial Cruzbike training team and support group)

If you buy a Kickr Snap instead of the full Kickr that's $500 less; that pays for your Tires, Floormat, and a year of trainer road, $300 +$60 + $99 <=$500

As a side note; of course right after I post that Wahoo did send an email out that says the Kickr Sale $120 off ends on August 30th. That may imply that they will drop the current model and just sell the new one at the old price point of $1199; versus keeping 3 models in production. So if...

    Carbon Fiber Fun

Only way to tell is to measure it. spinning a tire through an enclosed area has implications. But give the hills in that area; a Simple coast down test with and without the box installed would tell the tale. You'd want to be able to coast past 20mph. Same starting point; no pedaling; no braking...

    Bottom Bracket Suggestions?

Four possible errors can cause no spin, check for these: Chain stay cup clamps are too tight; (Tight hand tight where a 5inch long allen wrench starts to bend; then back off ¼ turn) Crank spindle was tightened beyond the torque spec Wave washer wasn't install on the drive side; and/or plastic...

2016 Mid-Atl Century reports and videos

In September we'll have at least 2 < 40; when Pluckyblond rides Iowa; for my health I won't mention the exact age; other than to mention she kept getting mad every time a female olympian in her mid thirties was described as an OLD athlete by the media coverage :) But for the youngest on any...

You many have heard: Larry crashed again

Hmmm.... tegaderm made by 3m. 3m headquartered in Minneapolis; I think I'll go knock on their door and see if they would like to sponsor a RAAM team o_O

Today's public service notice. Those funny looking levers on your handle bars...? yep those.... see they move when you pull them... ? yep they are called brakes. They are designed to keep you from breaking other things. Glad you are part Weeble even if you do fall down.

It will make you cuse when you do these (see photo): (Note I wanted to grab larry's raam workout but his account is flagged private; I need to get him to fix that so everyone can be terrified.) Seriously though with a V20 we can train anyone up to cruising in the 19-22mph range with nothing...

    "Resistance is Futile"

Yeah a weeping hole would be a positive improvement. But find a safe place in the hydro form to added it becomes the question. Example, talking to Jacob he thought it would be safer to add a dimple (like the one for the front wheel) versus a hole near the upper rear TT brake area to make room...

    Well, that was embarassing...

IF you already have the XD-15 it's probably more like .25-.50 mph; but yeah if you think about how much force is getting loaded and unloaded on to the bearing cups each rotation of the pedals it's a lot. Ages ago I measure it on the Kickr. SRAM 30$ versus XD-15 and played with over tightened...

Larry or Jim might know or you can ask him on BROL; he's a quiet poster only 107 since 2014 you can safely assume he's on his bike and not his keyboard. If his Strava profile is accurate then he's in the bracket 35-45 based HR zones. We can make a closer guess based on data but really just go...

    Well, that was embarassing...

Robert we've all been there. When you pedal you create Watts; you can have those Watts go to Heat, Flex, or Speed. Your BB is the fulcrum and it directly controls the amount going to Heat and Flex. I don't know things; I just read what the smart guys write and repeat it here so I don't have...

    QX100 vs Silvio

If you sell out on Qx 100 you can do 50 miles at 18mph after that the bike weight will take it's toll and you are going to finish with a 15-16mph average for 100 miles. Same rider for less pain is going to notch 18-19mph on the Silvo. I road the Quest last year on several 60+ mile social rides...
