    Deep Rims

Must be rim design; I mounted 4 of them this weekend; and 2 of those were remounts because I need to put in more reasonable length values. In each case it took 2 full blast from the bontrager pump to get them to fully seat but then in each case the mount was solid. fire three I dry mounted and...

Diet: Low Carb and Ultra Cycling

That is a big challenge. We've gone to online grocery shopping which is one advantage of living near the really big city. That allows us to scrutinize the purchase and remove impulse items. Not to mention the time save can be spent on the bike. The cost premium which we have tracked for about 9...

Diet: Low Carb and Ultra Cycling

Bring on the cheesecake. Because it's really good. https://www.grassfedgirl.com/primal-low-carb-cheesecake/ And the peanut butter cups http://lowcarbyum.com/chocolate-peanut-butter-fat-bomb-recipe/ *** Side note: Use "Swerve" for the sugar replacement. It doesn't create an insulin reaction...

Diet: Low Carb and Ultra Cycling

Edited: oh my the grammar was bad even for me. And now my introductory post on this topic that I have been sitting on for many months. Those that chat with me; know that I'm on a long track to go from being slow and able to cover really long distances; to being respectively fast and still able...

Ok Here's Jim's post that got this rolling. I have to include it as a quote, because trying to copy it in destroyed the thread on my first attempt.

    Steering angle.

Robert has tested the by swapping the forks for the current Silvio and the vendetta. The Silvio with a vendetta fort bike gets too twitchy at speed to be ridden safety down hill. Bike geometry in the real world is always an interesting test of theories. As for stable coasting. There is a great...

    New Vendetta picked up!

They are referring to installing the factory pedal on the wrong side. Aka; left spindle, right crank. If you did that yes they would not release. When you swap the bodies the "stop" moves to the front of the pedal away from the part of the shoe bracket that completes the stop. When you do this...

What did you do to your Cruzbike today?

I wish they'd put the clear one on sale. **Self Tinting sunglasses do work under the clear one. Not perfect but they do get darker.

    Vendetta V20 Build diary 2016

Yes these really were about (a) braking power; (b) keeping wires out of my legs (c ) looks.... so far all 3 are a success; if there is a fractional aero benefit that's pure gravy.

    Vendetta V20 Build diary 2016

Maybe; Would have have to run an Aerolab to see for sure.... but it definitely was More to do with the braking power of the unique center pull design. I really don't like SRAM rival brakes and it's hard to fit a Force or Red up in there. On the lower mount it's really easy but I use that area...

    Vendetta V20 Build diary 2016

A little rear brake porn to get everyones' weekend started off correctly. Added the Omega X to the rear break mount. Only challenge was getting the right length brake nut The two smallest bolts that come with the brake fall into the two short for comfort and a tad to long to work category...

    Bargain or not

KickStarter is cool; but I don't know that I'd buy a Carbon from from there; those still take talent to build and debug. There's reason the clones have a habit of exploding. If you were going to re-sell it then no worries; but by the time you pay; and wait it will be XXXX months before you can...

    New/Old Q559 rider

Not sure what part of MN you are in but if you are near me (southwest metro) we could pick a day and you could haul it down here and we can try and get you fixed up. AND go for a ride. Plenty of Q's in my garage.

How small a granny gear can you get on the Vendetta

Same on the Quest 20" low gearing is great, but the Silvio wobble wobble wobble too much torque too little weight on the wheel remind me of my old Y-foil66 with it's unusable triple; pedal in that gearing and pop a wheelie at 4 mph.
