I sense a disturbance in the 3rd Law

Handle bars in the house. Peaking ahead here are the 4 handle bars we are going to compare for differences in leg clearance and brifter angles. What we have in the "lab" is the stock Cruzbike bars, the Midge bars, Cowbell MD2, and the WoodChipper. As always it's hard to photograph the...

    Vendetta V20 Build diary 2016

The headrest remains all but completely unchanged since the first hydro formed frames. A single piece of aluminum tubing bent into a surprisingly useful shape. Although some might install padding enhancement, the simple design works well for most riders after they invest the time to get the...

The carbon fiber seat pan is a substantial improvement over the original fiber glass seat. The new one weighs in at a full pound less and is a single piece. Past manufacturing issues have been resolved as the velcro on the bottom of the seat in install in a near perfect position. The seat pan...

    New wheels for my V20

Looks Good Alan, that's a common problem with the SRAM force calibers in many sets of rims. I had 3 spacers on of the silvios, that fix should hold you good for may miles.

I sense a disturbance in the 3rd Law

The photos of the S30 I've seen clearly show a cable heading for the spot that the cable stop is on the stalk; so the stop appears to be there. The pulley would then be required to turn the cable, but I've not seen any photos. Since the S30 and v20 (I believe) now share the same boom and sider...

The slider now comes in two varieties. The include straight version and a new optional curved version that can be use to raise or lower the handle position depending on the size of the rider. The slider carries forward the bottle cage braze-ons which is useful; but that also ensures interference...

    Vendetta V20 Build diary 2016

The boom has gone through several enhancements. There is now very welcomed graduated marking on the boom so that you can remember your configuration and return it should the boom every slip or should you change it to let a pal ride you bike. I for one won't miss the piece of electrical tap I...

    Vendetta V20 Build diary 2016

Looking at the fork; on the surface it looks mostly unchanged. Since the move away from the Yellow Vendetta, the fork has been widened to accommodate a 132.5mm dropout so that both disc and non disc wheels can be used. The tapper has been increase to allow for 11 speed gearing, and the steam is...

    New Vendetta picked up!

You are correct that's very accurate. they also let you use a mountain-bike shoe for easier walking. The only problem I ever had with frogs; is they are a little heavier than the alternative and if you ride really hard and fast they tend to loosen in the shoe bracket every so slightly when that...

    New Vendetta picked up!

Frogs were designed for MTB riders; the have a rotation "stop" that allow you to squeeze your heals inward and the shoes stay firmly attached to the pedals. That was design for doing jumps and tricks. If you remove the two bolts that hold the pedal bodies together; you can pop out the spindles...

    New Vendetta picked up!

Pretty soon he'll be chasing you... You might be a good candidates for Speedplay Frogs with the spindles swapped. Mrs Ratz swears by them and there is absolutely no way you "can't clip out" if you start tip you feet just naturally come unclipped. We also use them all of quests that the...

I sense a disturbance in the 3rd Law

Definitely will be doubling back to cut the Fork stem; right now I can't see down the boom; the boom on the yellow vendetta sat much lower of the slotting which allowed it to come down over the fork stem. That was immediately obvious when sitting on the bike. Here's few behind the scenes photos...

    The V Chronicles

LOL :p Hey now; photography make the build go really slowly. The Diary is actually quiet a bit behind the actual build. One must maintain the anticipation for those in the dead of winter in the U.S. ....

That's why I like Lizard skinz the handle being wrapped and re-wrapped about 15-20 times fore you have to replace them. That was a happy accidental discovery.

I sense a disturbance in the 3rd Law

I never could get a bare wire to work well in the body of the bike. The other thing is it works better if you can zip strip (with a slim and small zip tie) the wire to the frame so that it does not move when you actuate it. I had that problem on the silvio "Too much wire in the frame", it moved...

    Vendetta V20 Build diary 2016

Ok for the final post for today; a quick look at the new chainstay enhancements. The Geometry of the Stay has remained mostly unchanged, but improved cable routing has been added. 1) There is now a cable stop welded on at the bottom of the front derailleur stem. 2) A cable pulley has been...
