Questions re: Silvio from a stickbike/lowracer rider

Just for perspective We don't' even try any more; just had a $150 hitch put on and got a Saris Freedom Superclamp rack which works perfect with the Vendetta. Silvo, and Quest. A focus can easily carry two bikes on a hitch rack.

    New Vendetta V20

Yes you can expect your WHID moment. Just depends when in the process it happens, then you get past it and you never look back. WHID=What Have I Done. Just imagine the look my wife gave me when she got back in the house after her first attempt on the Silvio. She got back on the bike about 1...

    Adjusting to different seat angles

Yeah but last year I made up for age with way over weight and out of shape. But that's almost tended two then you old guy watch out I'll be putting out ⅓ the power of larry and complaining climbing hills ⅓ the size you are riding.

    Adjusting to different seat angles

Going between preconfigured bike; Q, V, and S is pretty easy I don't see any acclamation time just jump on and go. However switch the configuration of any Bike even a little and takes at least 90 minutes of riding to get dialed in boom length wise; and at least two rides to get fully re-adapted...

    V20 framekit questions

bikette, Are you saying you have can't get the Front derailleur cage low enough via the braze-on mount for the chain to clear the cage when you are your small front ring? If so; what size rings are you running; and do you have a photo? I have an idea of someone here than can help you if...

    New Vendetta V20

Front of the V20 is 132mm meaning it takes either a 130mm standard rear road wheel; a 132mm rear road disc wheel or a 135mm MTB rear disc wheel. The rear is a "standard" front wheel which is always 100mm. The BB is GXP-Style Outboard Bearings. BB30 will not work; and the newest Shimano group...

    Power meter for Vendetta

This The power meter has two purposes: 1) Training to be faster, stronger, longer. If you are not going to do structured training then it's waste. 2) If you are trying to optimize a bike for rolling resistance and air resistance; then it is a high value tool for that but you have to learn the...

    Shine on you crazy diamond

That's basically what I use the Fibre Flares for, outline the frame and make my body reflect something. I have a neat one for my helmet that isn't in the ride with flare video in my signature, I should probably address that. I've consider getting the short ones and strapping to my legs which...

Climbing on FWD MBB - a few questions.

A Pair of numb feet a recumbent; on a DF a pair.... oh never mind. The feet thing for me has always been about two things 1) The shoes; if they are two tight or not stiff enough sore I get numb feet. 2) The level of the ride effort. If I ride above around 95% of my max heart for a sustained...

    Q-Rings, input please

I have round ring 50/34's on a 20" quest and it goes like a bat out of...... So that should work on a soft rider; but to do that it requires a road capacity front dreailuer like a SRAM Force22 or a Rival. You also can't make the boom shorter than 2 or 3 with that big ring or you will get chain...

Spring is HERE!! lets see your RIDE!!

Almost. Jeff has Di2. The Di2 SS derailleur maxes out at 28T and GS is 32T. That's one of my hold ups I'm waiting for the MTB Di2 to come down in price then I can have a Hill Climbing Cassette and derailleur. The other option is to mode the cage; I've been watching for someone to pair a 40T...

    Q-Rings, input please

The best part of the Q-rings is that going up hill the ring feels smaller and going down hill it feel bigger. It just works so you get more range on your gearing. If you ask Mark Stonich of BikeSmithDesign he'll always tell you to get Q-ring to go with your custom shorter cranks. I'm running...

With the power you put out; you only have to work about cars coming from the sides. The ones behind you are not catching up.

I just found my filter in the box. I thought it was some sort of spacer. That's definitely getting installed; to increase the "what the heck is that" factor.
