Why can't I sell a two wheeled recumbent?

I have a simpler explanation. It is lack of places to try one. We were lucky that when my husband showed an interest in trying a recumbent, an article showed up in a local paper (we were vacationing in Florida from Connecticut) about Vite in Venice ( J and J Schlitter). We were able to actually...

Love to get a Vendetta but?

I don’t have CA3 experience, but I would nix the S40 idea. The Vendetta is much faster. I have both. I don’t think age is an issue. If you’re comfortable on a CA3 at 20 degrees you’ll probably be fine on a Vendetta.

    front wheel change

Just ride with a partner :) I swap wheels out all the time on my S40. We turn it upside down. Hubby holds the chain, derraileur. I pop the wheel in and out and we’re good to go.

Test riding a true racing recumbent

Go to clc.com and search for minicell foam. It comes in various sizes and can be easily cut and shaped. I use it for kayak seats and custom shape it with a wire brush held in a pair of grip pliers. It is firm foam. I could mail you a piece if you want to check it out first. Just message me your...

    New S 40 build

They are fine. However, I only weigh 130 lbs. and don’t ride them hard. I usually ride them on packed gravel. Can’t say how a heavier rider or rougher riding would go. Having said that, I do have a comment on Velocity. I originally ordered less expensive wheels from them on line. The transaction...

Considering giving Cruzbike a second chance...

I have a V20 and an S40. I also had an S30. I sold the S30 for the S40 because I wanted a Cruzbike for gravel, and wider tires didn’t fit the S30. I am not a racer. I ride fast on the V20 with my husband (Encore), 18/20 mph, but with friends, I ride the S 40. My older mixed group probably...

    Help needed, shifting issue

Exactly! Then the chain catcher keeps me from being able to get the chain back on to the chain ring and I have to loosen it, move it, then retighten. I am reluctant to bring it anywhere, as it is fine most of the time. Thanks for the responses.

    Help needed, shifting issue

The chain falls off to the inside,, between the small chainring and the bottom bracket. Sometimes I can catch it by shifting quickly back down, and it will come back up to the small chain ring. Other times lately, it has been going off and getting stuck below the chain minder arm (or whatever...

    Help needed, shifting issue

I have an S40, with a SRAM Force 22 Yaw front derailleur. I am in CT and ride mostly flat country roads and rail trails in Mass. and CT. I am usually in the big chain ring in front and 4 or 5 in the back. When I come to a crossing, I shift down to the small chain ring, then up shift once across...

    hot, very hot

I use a Salamander Paddling Gear visor. It velcros to your helmet. You can place the velcro where you want it, depending on your layback or sun level.

    Frogs for sale

I have three sets of Speedplay Frog pedals for sale and 5 sets of clips. We switched over to SPD pedals for off road, and after taking the wrong shoes with me the other day, I have decided to go all SPD. They probably have less than 2000 miles on them, converting from flat to clips over time...

    Creaking front end

I had a nut come off the front of the seat and didn’t notice. The creak was driving me crazy, but I didn’t initially check the seat because it didn’t sound like it was coming from that area.

    New light bracket

It was made out of aluminum stock and a wooden dowel. Screwed to the bar under the bottom bracket. Just enough room to put the light on. Didn’t take long. Dowel is about 1 1/8”, holder about 2” and bracket about 4 1/4”. The picture shows it mounted on the S40. This picture shows the parts which...

    Kickr app

I’m using it with a V20 and it works fine. I’m not sure about tire wear. I have Cont. gp 4000 on it. There is some wear, but I don’t want to disassemble every time either, so I’m not going to worry about it. Maybe Ratz could chime in.

Merits of touring on a s40 over v20

I’ve got both and I wouldn’t take the V for touring. The S 40 is much more comfortable for looking around, you have a better choice of tire sizes and racks fit without a problem.
