    Noisy drivetrain

Another thing to check out your wheel. I also had this issue and it was usually the headset clamp as described... But then recently a new creak sounded. I found my wheel rim had crack around some of the nipples so when the wheel torqued the rim was creaking! Wheel has now been condemned and...

    Noisy drivetrain

...they've put on the bolt. Others have pulled the bolt out, cleaned it, and lightly lubricated the threads and the outer sleeve. I solved my creak by sliding very thin mylar washers between the inside of the boom clamp and the steerer tube top cap, where the bolt slides through. Most of the...

    Request for Vendetta identification/age analysis

...much as I liked the look of the V.2 boom and slider, the revised V20 front end offered much more adjustability, and it got rid of an annoying creak that I could not make go away. I am a shorter rider, and as you can see in the first picture, I had to trim quite a bit of the yellow boom to...

    2024 Q45 creak

We have identified that a handful of bikes in our most recent batch of Q45s have annoyingly "creaky" shocks. There is nothing mechanically wrong, but as a Q45 rider myself, I fully understand your frustration. Our product manager, Robert, has sourced replacement shocks but those have not arrived...

    2024 Q45 creak

Pretty much what I wrote. If it creaks -- mine like a son-of-a-b***h -- I consider it defective and needing replacement.

    2024 Q45 creak

Thank you, After much searching I too have traced my creak to the shock don’t know if it’s a faulty shock, the bike is new so I hope not, but I would appreciate advice on how to check if the shock is faulty.

    2024 Q45 creak

I have had two creaks: 1) your original post; and 2) top boom clamp creak. I spent much time on 1), and back and forth with Robert on it (including video with audio), and on mine it was/is clearly a defective shock. If you (better yet, a helper) stand next to the bike and push down on the seat...

    2024 Q45 creak

Like you I've been chasing creaks on my Q45. There are many mount points that I've been exploring; the three QR clamps of the seat, the two QR clamps of the spring, the rear rack attachment and the various attachments of the boom. I noticed a creak when I put power on so when I pull a bit more...

    2024 Q45 creak

...track the noise is not as bad. For example today I rode over several cattle grids with no noise from the bike but freewheeling down a hill with what I would describe as surface ripples and the creak was back. I can’t get it to make any noise by bouncing on the seat when the bike is stationary.

Tools for removing cranks and bottom bracket on Q45?

Not sure if it has been mentioned yet, but you might want to tighten the bolts on your chainrings. On my DF bike I had a persistent creak that was caused by a loose bolt on my chainring. At first I thought it was a bad BB so I put on a new one on, but that wasn't what solved the creak, nor was...

Tools for removing cranks and bottom bracket on Q45?

...something simpler before buying a bunch of tools you probably won’t use very much. Spokes can be the cause of infuriating clicking and creaking. And the noise can travel and appear to come from anywhere on the bike. So first get yourself a spoke wrench - which you’ll use often - and learn...

Tools for removing cranks and bottom bracket on Q45?

...each and every component of my front boom assembly, but so far without long-term success (I've experienced a temporary reprieve from the creak on several occasions, but it keeps returning after just a few rides). I brought my Q45 to a bike store where they used a torque wrench, which again...

Tools for removing cranks and bottom bracket on Q45?

Not trying to be smart here...but, are you sure it's the BB? Have you tried greasing all of the connecting joints and attachment hardware? That along with correct torque value might resolve the problem. Good luck!

Tools for removing cranks and bottom bracket on Q45?

I have a 2022 Q45 that's creaking too! Please keep us updated on whether your investigation of BB fixes the creaking. Thanks!

Tools for removing cranks and bottom bracket on Q45?

What are the best tools for removing the cranks and bottom bracket on a 2021 Q45? I have a persistent creak that is driving me a bit nuts, and I have tried tightening and massaging every other component of the front boom/wheel that I can think of, but without long-lasting success. Thanks, Dave

This question is blasphemous - V20 Seat Angle

Does your race case creak, squeak and make obnoxious noises while you ride? I rode 30 miles and it's mind numbing how bad it gets on mine. I need some tips on how to damper that creeking and squeaking.
