    650c rear wheel for Vendetta?

Everything else is affected with that one wheel change. The rake and trail of the front end will be different, for example, so the handling will also be different.

The squeak will be caused by the last thing you check. You'll find it.

The Optimum Hip Angle for Maximum power?

You're right when your bike fits you and works most efficiently with you. Plus, it's your bike that, hopefully, fits you. My bike is not set up to work well with anyone else, so for my bike, these 'optimal' numbers are sub-optimal.

Things are starting to get serious around here!

Yeah, good points, but as an ex-pro motorcycle mechanic with a lot of experience working with hydraulic brakes? I like them. Their best feature is no cable! Cable-actuated brakes best feature? No messy hydraulic fluid!

Things are starting to get serious around here!

Disc brakes. Hydraulic disc brakes. You know this makes sense, right? Let the wheels be wheels and then get brakes to be brakes.

    help adjusting rear caliper

Is the brake cable housing (from the frame tube to the rear caliper) too short? The housing must be long enough to allow the brake caliper to move freely.

    S30 vs Vendetta cruising speeds?

Seat angle is 22.5 degrees according to the published specifications. The Vendetta climbs more efficiently/faster than the Sofrider for all of the reasons. For me, in order, these are: -no bottom bracket flex. -Longer wheelbase = more front wheel traction. -Better aerodynamics and -lighter weight.

    S30 vs Vendetta cruising speeds?

Seat angle is a factor in aerodynamics. Numbers don't lie. Seat angle is also your individual preference. Whatever you prefer is what works for you. My Cruzbike Sofrider V1 has two different seat angles. Same bike, same rider, same everything: The only variable is the seat angle. So...

    Custom Wood Strip Composite Seat

This technique works. My seat is a balsa core & glassfibre/epoxy resin composite. It saved a lot of weight over the stock welded aluminum seat pan and, most important, it fits me well. Here it is, seat covered and showing the integrated neck rest: Like Ak-Tux says, this is worth it but...

Paging Tribal Elders and Component Wonks- Caution Long

Hi Rob, You never mentioned recum-butt in your Musashi story, but (heh) mention it in your S40 test ride. Since the Vendetta is more like your Musashi in that your body weight is more distributed and less concentrated, you may be more comfortable on a Vendetta. The V seat pan is small for big...

Sofrider II - question about boom adjustment

I cannot find any mechanical drawings online, on the Apache server that the Cruzbike website is on or even in my files. The bearings are very simple: -Sintered bushings; -Axle. The axle is in two pieces which screw together to form the axle. It's easy stuff, this bicycle mechanic-ing thing, but...

Sofrider II - question about boom adjustment

If this was my Sofrider II, I would disassemble the bicycle, clean all of the bearings, lubricate, and then reassemble. Then I would pay attention to the brakes, cables, spokes, pedals, and everything. But first things first: the boom. The boom (TFT) is dry and stiff. The axles that the TFT...

New Kind KS A5-RR1 Dual shock for Sofrider V2 ?

Measure the stock eye to eye distance, the width of the eye, the eye hole/bolt hole diameter, and compare the stock shock/mounting bracket measurements to the replacement shock. If the measurements match, then your new shock will fit.

    Longer chainstay = more speed

The corollary to a higher bottom bracket or its position relative to your hip socket is the angle of the seat back. (Er, in my experience.) For example, Larry Oslund has modified his stock seat with a sculpted foam wedge in the lumbar (lower back) area. This wedge effectively decreases his seat...

    Hand fatigue

When a Diamond Frame bike rider sprints, the bike will rock from side to side; when a D.F. bike rider sprints, the front wheel will point left-right in time with the side to side rocking. Your friendly long-time V20 pilot is doing this. If your intention is to track as straight as possible...

    Getting Off the Fence

Find the brick mailbox pillar just to the left of the center of the picture. See the white mailbox mounted to the pillar? It's sticking out to the right. The bright spot between the white mailbox and the pavement is the headlight. Now you can see the handlebars, right? The Vendetta is leaning on...
