    V20 finding that fit

I'm a little hesitant to suggest this (because you seem to have found what works for you), but have you considered a shim? It might take a bit to get used to, but it might give you a better experience in the long run. (And, it might not. :) )

    Daydreaming of upgrades

Leg suck is really dangerous when you'r on a tadpole trike and your feet get sucked under the bar holding the front wheels. It's ocnsiderably less dangerous on other recumbents. That being said, I'm convinced you could do real damage dragging your feet on a Cruzbike at speed (just like you...

Do you compensate? If so, how?

S30 buildup with Volae Comfort Carbon L seat.

My experience with my Sofrider and Cruzigami Mantis are the exact opposite. I can easily ride moving less than 3 miles per hour when climbing big hills and therefore like my very low gearing (both bikes go under 17"). My seats are a bit higher angle than the Silvio (which is higher than the...

    V20 finding that fit

I would expect that this would work better for most people who have one leg shorter than the other.

    V20 finding that fit

Assuming it is from the knee to the foot that is shorter, I don't think that would help as much as getting shims under the cleats to make the short leg longer (you want both legs to have the same motion when pedaling and shorter crank on one side would muck that up). If the leg is shorter...

Ol'Yellow get a New Facelift after 11.6K Miles

When I had my wisdom teeth taken out, I was waking up from the anesthesia and the dentist tried to tell me that a single 800 mg pills of ibuprofen where the same as two 400 mg pills of ibuprofen. What I understood was take two. I had no pain. :)

Ol'Yellow get a New Facelift after 11.6K Miles

I have to disagree. Crossing your fingers is never optional. :)

What did you do to your Cruzbike today?

I agree that there is a big push for clipless pedals in biking in general. And that a lot of people might be well served by using flat pedals. But SWB bikes in general and MBB bikes in particular are different. When clipping in, you no longer have to hold your feet to the pedals (where this...

Oops, I did it again... Introducing the Folding CruziTandem

Now that you mention it, I've got a link here.

Oops, I did it again... Introducing the Folding CruziTandem

I bought the kit when they announced they weren't making them anymore (and they very nicely sold me the parts for the second seat at the same time). For the back, I'll probably remove the unused crankset and replace the front crankset (of the stoker) with a triple (and upgrade the rear wheel as...

    Daydreaming of upgrades

From a stopping point of view, this is very true. From a "how it feels" point of view, you'd have to get used to having very different brakes on the front and the rear. I'm sure it could be done, but it's worth mentioning ahead of time.

Boom ... was that an S30 that just passed you?

How different does it ride? I agree that rear suspension is more useful than front suspension, but both (when well tuned) can be useful (or not??)

    Daydreaming of upgrades

Mirrors are a great idea. I personally have trouble focusing on helmet mirrors (although I think with the right helmet mirror and practice I could make it work). I have these mirrors and I really like them (I use both because I can keep an eye on both cars with the left one and my kids with...

Climbing and bb height, low gears

I'm clearly late to this, but my $0.02: Mr Steve is right. (Which is not to say that everybody else is wrong :) ) I like having low gears. I can spin up very steep climbs. Double cranksets don't usually do it for me. I find that spinning helps traction compared to mashing. My stroke is...

Oops, I did it again... Introducing the Folding CruziTandem

I think I'll eventually remove that crankset and just connect the two chains for the rear drive train. I left it because, in principle, I could remove the rear seat and have somebody ride the rear as a regular bicycle. (I think that it would probably make the bike much harder to balance.) I...

Oops, I did it again... Introducing the Folding CruziTandem

I didn't do anything to the frame. I started with a folding tandem frame and added the Cruzbike front triangle from conversion and two Cruzbike seats (Cruzbike had enough parts to sell me 1 and 1/2 Cruzbike kits after they announced they weren't making them anymore). I used hard rubber...

Oops, I did it again... Introducing the Folding CruziTandem

Well, I got bored again... Really, it just kind of happened. O.k. That's not true. I like Cruzbikes. And I wanted a Tandem. And Cruzbike was nice enough to sell me what I needed, so, without further ado, here is the Folding CruziTandem: It is possibly the longest MBB bike in existence...

    My journey to a V20

I completely agree with Ratz. What a horrible way to come to Cruzbikes, but we're glad to have you. I've already been facinated by the F40. I'm waiting for somebody to put a full sock on a V1.x Silvio to see how it compares to an F40.

    Prior Bachetta owners?

Agreed. To bad he suffered silently (at least as far as we're concerned).
