    front wheel stabilizer

Has anyone tried a front wheel stabilizer on a sofrider or freerider, or maybe a conversion? http://www.hebie.de/stabilizer-696-made-of-elastom.hebie6950.0.html?&L=1 I was thinking it might make the bike easier to park?

    Amazing....

When I built Silvio II, I didn't put much effort into cleaning up components and stuff, I pretty much threw it together as is and rode it. Everything was groovy, but I had noticed some degradation in shifting. I had been using a chain lube that was once polularized on BROL, but I discovered...

    Cruzbike Jerseys

I received my Cruzbike jersey yesterday (thanks John and Maria!) It's a beauty and a quality garment. I was skeptical when I saw they were offering them for $20, but my skepticism was without merit! The colors are very nice; the pictures don't do it justice. There are two pockets, instead of...

Tip: front tube clamp turn saves your seat edge rubber

Hi I had some trouble with the rubber at the edge of the seat always comming off just where the telescopic front tube hits the seat when parked. It turned out it was the clamp, and that simply turning it will prevent the rubber from slipping off.

    Parts scrounging

I'm building a bike for a friend. Long story, but this is a real deserving guy. I'm donating a frame/fork and my labor. We're not looking for charity, but if you have extra parts laying around, we'd be happy to pay you. We've been accumulating some stuff, already. The list of what we need...

    Rohloff hillclimbing

Today i was out for the first longer ride this year and since i got the Rohloff. I did my normal rutine, an hour of riding up and down 3 hills. Well, it usually takes an hour. Last time i did this ride was in late August :-( because i've been really busy since then. Back in August i had the...

    Sunday Morning Breakfast Ride, Sorta.

I skipped riding yesterday (Saturday) because it was misting. Of course, as soon as I committed to doing something else, it quit, but the threat of rain caused me to give up the notion. Today, I got out of bed determined to ride, no matter what. It was cold... Really cold..... 41 degrees...

    Another virgin ride

My pulse is pounding and my legs are like jelly - and that was just the first 400 yards! I can confirm that the bike can be ridden* by a 66 year old Cruzbike virgin after a couple of minutes, if my wobbly progress can be called riding. First I sat on it and rolled down a 1% slope - about 50...

Schlumpf on a Freerider or Softrider

I realise there's a little weight penalty and a fairly big cost, but to get a wide gear range from any Cruzbike that doesn't have a derailleur post you have the option of the Schlumpf bottom bracket drives. The heel kick change is very light and shouldn't present an insurmountable problem in...

    Softriders - Seat top bag

I note a lot of owners are mentioning that there's no where to hang/bolt/store 'stuff.' For a long time I've used a seat top bags on 3 recumbents - the bags will pretty much fit any seat. For hydration I have a tube and nipple. I've drilled a PET cap for the hose and the bottle of whatever...

    I Passed a Recumbent-

-going uphill, against the wind. Of course, I had a slight advantage. My bike is a Cruzbike V1, modified with a 52-42-30 triple chainring.... His bike was a recumbent tricycle, he was carrying panniers and he was at least as old as me. ---- On the same ride, I was slowing for the blind...

    Need some help

I'm swamped and I need something quick and dirty. I'm busting my arse trying to get ready to leave for a few weeks to visit my sister and it seems like every tiny little iron I see in a match flame seems to be attached to a double size I-beam stuck in the sun. Given my issues with upgrading my...
