The Optimum Hip Angle for Maximum power?

I came a cross this interrestting study https://digitalcommons.brockport.edu/cgi/viewcontent.cgi?article=1093&context=pes_facpub It shows that a hip angle of 75 deg relative to the line parallel to the BB is the most optimum for power production. Having also read some tests and studies by...

    New T50 Build

Nice build with nice color contrast between the black and yellow; love it . However, in my opinion, your steerer setup is very long and high becuase the handlebar is facing backwards. It will not be a very efficient climber. There will be power losses due to flex . You want the minimum...

    New T50 Build

Looks like the handlebar is facing the wrong direction? No clearance for the leg.

    Media content

There are lots of Youtube videos: Just search "cruzbike" : https://www.youtube.com/results?sp=EgIQAQ%3D%3D&search_query=cruzbike There are also lots of videos on homemade cruzbike clones and similar designs. My favourite are "Rev" MBB models by Marco Ciccio ( Marco Ruga)...

How long did it take you to get your "bent legs"

Acceleration will be affected by the weight. It's not a criterium bike for sure. But the key thing is to dial in the fit to the point that you can almost generate the same power as you did on the DF. Focus on fit, i.e. optimum hip angle, leg extension, arm extension and shoulder suport e.t.c...

Should I take clipless pedals off?

Do your slow speed drills/starts and stops with them until unclipping becomes completely natural. Otherwise, try toe clips without straps or with loose straps for sometime. We are all different but I practiced my slow speed drills, starts and stops nearly three times a week for more than a...

    2018 Flat 50

Congratulations! A little tip that you probably already know: I sit up when riding over rough patches. I keep my phone , zipped inside a frame bag, sometimes padded by a spare tube.

    Any one using roller trainer?

An alterantive to achieve a push/pull effect is to suspend the rear part of the cruzbike on a string as originally demonstrated by former Cruzbike original designer and Co-founder John Tolhurst: Which, by the way, would the best way to safely teach new riders the counter steer effect of a cruzbike!

    2019 S40 coming soon!

I think any standard 10,11 or 12 speed 700C roadbike wheel hub (spacing is 132.5mm hence accepting a range 130mm to 135mm) with a standard quick release should fit the front of the S40. It's just a roadbike with wheels reversed back to front;).

Cycling is the most reliable transport after Typhoon Mangkhut.

Looks like the typhoon divastated the trees and partly blocked the roads! Sorry for the situation. On the positive side, it seems you have the roads, mostly, all to yourself! What a treat! P.S. .. love the one leg pedaling at 30:20 !

    Road bike vs. recumbent comparison

+1 Once the MBB is perfectly dialed in, the only difference, to me, really (with the exception of traction on extreme grades) is the weight in favour of the DF. My DIY MBB, out performs my DF on rolling terrains even if my DF is lighter by 6Kgs!
