    better climber?

The Vendetta has a lower center of gravity, a longer wheelbase, weighs less and has no suspension, compared to the Silvio. -The lower center of gravity is due to the lower seat angle which puts the rider's weight closer to the tarmac. This allows the V to tackle steeper hills with less front...

    New/Old Q559 rider

Yeah, that's how you do it. The CHP motor officers do this and so do the Shriners. So do I.

How to precisely adjust boom position

Blue painter's masking tape for me... it works well with the yellow paint and leaves less residue than electrical tape. And I've trimmed the ragged edges off because that's how crazy I am. Oh yeah: I've done this for years too... in case the boom slips.

Lots of fun; thanks for sharing. I liked the tom turkey too.

Do you push or do you pull?

Both, usually switching between pushing and pulling and alternatively both pulling and pushing at once. The third option available for inputting arm power is, by lying extra-flat on the seat back and gripping the brifter hoods, my arms are straight: In this position, my shoulders can do the...

Boom ... was that an S30 that just passed you?

Only a few of us have climbed the same hills on the same MBB platform but with radically different seat angles. This means that there's no meaningful data on how much better, if any, one seat angle performs Vs. another. My me-powered Sofrider climbs hills much better with the 18-degree seat and...

Boom ... was that an S30 that just passed you?

Cool. Now, if the wheelbase were extended a few extra inches, the Silvio would ride smoother, accomodate very tall people and climb better.

    chased by ....

Yes, this is what I do. When the dog is serious, I stop and use the bike as a barrier... and defuse the situation with my green "alien" squeaky toy. When the chasing stops because I stop, all the fun of the chase stops which usually works!

    Memorial Day Discrimination

As far as I know, all reasonably talented groups of competitive cyclists routinely commit moving violations. The difference between normal people like you and aberrant outliers like me is that you normal people like your group rides. So, find a way to ride with a group that will be happy to...

    chased by ....

Great footage! Here's some data I've personally collected on actual dogs who have either chased or paced me: -Slowest dog was the Chihuahua on the corner. He could duck under his fence and run with me at 16mph. -fastest local dogs were the brace (two) of hound (Redbone?) puppies that I paced on...

Dang NON-MBB's don't have enough pedal steer to be stable

Hah! Nice to know I'm not the only one, Rick! Long, long ago... before the last dinosaur died, I tried to ride a jet ski. Those boats sure do feel like motorcycles, but countersteering just spat me overboard every single time. Then, just a few years ago, I test rode a Honda Silver Wing...

Spring Time - Learning To Ride Time

Learned on a Sofrider V1 Pushing the left pedal away from you, you counter that by pushing the right hand grip away from you; pushing the right pedal away from you, you counter that by pushing the left hand grip away from you. This works, but gets tiring pretty fast... and you're doing it...

    Slow Ride

My girlfriend and I talked a little about my latest 'victory'. I was reluctant to pass the road biker because I didn't really want to upset her riding plan if any. We dug down to the basic reasons why I left the lady to ride her ride in peace: -She was riding solo, dressed in Spandex in public...

Which model Vendetta? For example, my older model V won't fit more recent models.

    FYI: Forums Organization Pending.

This is a Cruzbike forum which is embedded in Cruzbike's website, so an 'Other Bikes' or, "Pedal World" category makes sense. Otherwise, any time a bike is mentioned here, it is assumed to be a Cruzbike. Lots of us ride dirt bikes/mountain bikes, U.C.I. standard 'safety' bikes, maybe even velos...

    Slow Ride

Went for a Sunday ride yesterday, because it was Sunday and the Sun was out. Plus, on the weekend, weekend riders usually are out riding... riders like me, for example. After pumping up the tyres, setting the computer to zero and checking the major wheel fasteners, I was off and hunting -er-...

Speed Sensor - going Wire and Magnet Less

Why specify no magnet? If your streets are mostly smooth, you shouldn't need to worry. If you're biking off-road over boulders and bears, then I can see that having no magnet on the wheel would be a plus.... The bare-bones wired Cateye bike computer on the Sofrider is on its third battery...
