This is easily the most epic thing I have ever seen for a recumbent to accomplish. I have doubts there are many (any?) other recumbents out there that could finish this sort of challenge. And kudos to you for the incredible physical feat this must be! CONGRATS!

This largely depends on the year the bike was made. The old models had stays that grabbed the BB bearing shell, ands on those a triple is generally not compatible. A modern double or very wide range 1x will usually get you a wider range than a triple nowadays. Also it is getting very difficult...

These bikes do have the same front triangle The Q45 is intended to sit much more upright, so the steerer is long in order to get the bars at the proper height for the intended seat angle for its use. The S40 is a bit more reclined so the bars much then be lower for the same... a more reclined...

For me the 20" wheels are so I can easily fit my bike in the back of a car, and also just have a "hop on and go" compact neighborhood bike. It is not fast, but with 2" Big Apple tires it is comfortable and can go up anything. I use a 1x11 setup on it with friction shifting old-school style. It...

I use 406 wheels on my older Q that is my personal bike and have used them on a Q45 (pre through axle) and it is awesome.

Congrats! Indeed the historical lore of “Cruzbikes are hard to ride” is a good part myth and also our bikes have evolved just enough over the years that riding one is - for some coming into the world of recumbents - actually easier than “traditional” (wherever that term came from) recumbent RWD...

Indeed. Light and also (per some preliminary testing) some good aero. Also no rattling so nice and quiet on the road.

6-hour racers starting at 10AM here Pacific time. It’s going to be a hot one again so we are keeping people as cool as possible before the start. Keen eyes take note of the new race case which Maria will be riding with.

Indeed for Cliff it was heat related. For Laura it was knee related. It’s brutal out there y’all . John is still out there - he made the cutoff to get one more long lap in before the short laps start. Home stretch!
