    Trying to decide

Trikes Are Cool. Some trikes are faster than others. Modern trikes are probably better than the trike you rode ten years ago. Cruzbikes are superior to all other recumbent bicycles except for, perhaps, Zockras' FWD MBB carbon framed wonderbikes. Where I used to ride, I...

    Learning to ride a Softrider

Gravel The gravel driveway I used to ride on was a tenth of a mile long. It had a short steep hill with some loose, deep spots but was overall a nice road. Gravel is what it is and until you learn where the best paths in the gravel road are, you ought to be pretty cautious. If you...

    Vendetta V20

Racing Colours The Vendetta is a racebike... in a race. Yellow has been fielded successfully by Cruzbike Vs while competing in races. Jaguar competed successfully in their dark BRG (British Racing Green). Ferrari competes in their unmistakable Ferrari Red. Should Cruzbike...

    So there I was

Sorry! It's all a matter of what you are experienced with. When I got my Sofrider, I lived at a house at the end of a 1/10 mile long gravel driveway. My dog and I used to race each other on the gravel! Although my tyres are a bit fatter than yours, they are slicks. Silvios on...

    Front Disc Wheel

Jim Parker -is correct. My home-made rear disk stays on my rear wheel. My bike is more sensitive to side winds and truck-gusts, but the bike self-corrects: The added side area in the rear does this. I'm pretty sure that the rear disks act like a splitter, helping to calm the...

    my silvio journey

Lesser...? How cheeky. My bike is no less a bike than is yours, Mr. Brokeneck. If you have some spare room in your bag, why not consider carrying a pack of business cards with contact information on them? You can hand one out to anyone who expresses any interest. It's easy...

More reclined position with higher feet by putting a small wheel /short suspension in the back

The 'YakRider' My modded Sofrider lives on the trainer, currently... and I'm sitting on my more upright fibreglass seat, not the low seat in the above picture. Makes it more comfortable to read-and-'ride.' My new carbon fibre MBB midracer kitted out with a nice SRAM ?powertrain is...

More reclined position with higher feet by putting a small wheel /short suspension in the back

Raised Bottom Bracket The best way to raise the bottom bracket is to -raise the bottom bracket. The best way to get a lower seat angle is to lower the seat. The best.... Anyway, keeping things simple is harder to do than it looks, isn't it! This is what my bike looked like...

    Quest frame flex tested

Excellent! Great job, brilliantly executed! Thank you, thank you for sharing your result here. (I know what my next modification will be.) Did you note how thankful I am? Thank you, Billy K., Sincerely, -Steve

    Lessons from my recent stupidity

Grease! If the greased bolt is silenced, then good. If you can't replace the boom clamp, or repair it, then consider replacing the keyed bolt with an un-keyed bolt. Add a lock washer between the new non-keyed bolt and a flat washer, reassemble with grease and you're off. -Steve

    !@&#^% sand!

Sand Traps -they suck! Did you warn your DF riding buddy? I'm sure that you did... but he sort of got dropped from your story too. Stuff on the road that sucked me down: -nails; -morning dew in the shade; -fall leaves; -sand -of course-; -gravel and, most embarrassingly...

    My Journey Begins...

Stoppies! Stoppies and slides, oh my! -And wheelies... don't forget the classic wheelie! ?You do those by pedaling up a really steep hill and applying some appropriate body English. Rolling backwards back downhill on one wheel is not recommended: don't do that. Remember, the...

    Vendetta Newbie

Transitions Between Slow And Fast Steering? Your experience will be different, because you're unique. You are you. But, for what it's worth...: There is only one real similarity that is shared by single-track, two-wheeled vehicles: the two wheels! Motorcycles are heavy...

    Vendetta Newbie

Imagine.... Non-MBB bikes are fun to ride, after you've trained your brain to ride your MBB bike. It's fun because it's a challenge. Challenges are fun. Remember what fun it was to learn to ride your Cruzbike? It's helpful to ride a non-MBB occasionally, as it shows you that you are not...

    Squeaking on Silvio 1.5 - suggestions ?

Creaking Aluminum Mast -that's what the noise sounds like to me. There's a loose-ish, dry joint somewhere on the aluminum frame... and since it's very loud when you load the right pedal when you are stationary, my guess is that the complaining dry, noisy part is probably in the...

Hill climbing pogo and arm extension

Arm Position Hand position, degree of recline, bottom bracket height and yes, handlebar type / height / width / position / stiffness: all are interrelated and influence your climbing performance. You can search this forum to find posts about air shocks/dampers and elastomeric/rubber...

looking for riding tips with toe-clips or snap in shoes, general steering and uphill/downhill riding

Everyone Uses Clipless But not everyone is like everyone else. I'm special. I've used Powergrip pedal straps for years on my very own pet Sofrider and they work just fine for me. Why be so stubbornly different, you ask? You did not ask, you say? Well... pretend you did...

Checkup at bike shop every 50 hours??

Machines Wear and Humans Make Mistakes Pilots walk around their aircraft, looking/feeling for anything out of the ordinary, before taking flight in their aircraft. When I tested motorcycles for a living, I inspected my mount every day, before the first ride. When I repaired motorcycles...

    1000 Miles Later

You're in the Groove! You know, the lack of idlers and all those extra chain links helps, but really it's the triangulated frame, frame that connects the bottom bracket -the motor- to the driven wheel. When you power your Silvio, you're just not deflecting your power triangle...
