    V20 finding that fit

Yep we've reviewed that before; height of BB relative to the rider effects what is "perceived" as point toys. See this thread for the pictures. http://cruzbike.com/forum/threads/ankling-foot-position-as-affected-by-boom-crank-and-chainstay-length.11420/#post-128950

    New to Cruzbike

Inside the old stay where it connects to the BB there are two metal collar sleeves; did you pull them out and install them in the new stay?

    New to Cruzbike

Dramatic difference! The long chainstay came yesterday and I installed it. Went on a 20 mile ride today and the bike is comfortable. No more heel strike issues, and I was able to remove the pedal extenders (hated those). I thought the pedal steer affect would be more noticeable, but it wasn't...

    Sofrider V3 mods & touring

...move the seat mounting holes to allow even longer spacers, or I might get a carbon Thorseat. (<RANT> Cruzbike provides different chainstay lengths to accommodate people of different heights - I wish they would also recognize that tall people have longer backs!! </RANT>) Rearward seat...

Has anybody mounted a different seat?

I meant to write sooner, but it's been busy.. Anyway, great tip about the spacer. I couldn't make that link work, but the idea was enough. I made 2" spacers between the seat halves - that was as long as they can be with the upper seat half on the original seat mount holes. It does help a bit...

Ankling & Foot position as affected by Boom, Crank and Chainstay length

Ok this could get complicated, you have been warned, there be angles a foot ;) Jason ankling is pretty solid and close to textbook to my eye, this was a topic I've been studying because of the way Larry and Eric Winn pedal compare to the way I do, trying to figure out why we do it differently...

has anyone tried bars like this?

Slim, I don't see how the chainstay extension will move my feet forward. When the pedal is farthest away my heel just touches it with a straight knee. The position of the bottom bracket is constrained by the length of my leg. Since the bottom bracket is a couple inches above the seat, it seems...

    Converting Quest 559 to 406

Wow thanks for the quick reply ratz! I appreciate the answers with explanations. The current chainstay is about 14.5" so I think it will pack fine and I want to mess with the setup as little as possible as I like the feel. I have monkeyed around moving seat and angle and boom length over...

    Flat Front Shock

The tightness of the boom bolt is unrelated to suspension leaking. With the bolt tightened such that the boom is secure, the boom and sleeve can still pivot about this bolt: Assuming the front carboyoke doesn't extend or compress in it's primary plane then the boom pivots about this bolt when...

    Flat Front Shock

I think that there is no need to make the boom pivot above the stem. The fork is the element in the front triangle that changes it's length when the suspension compresses. The boom remains rigid and the carbon fiber chainstay flexes to compensate for the retractation of the fork.

You are a strong candidate for the chainstay extension.

    Vendetta V20 Build diary 2016

Now that the boom and chainstay are attached via the bottom bracket; it is time to assemble the front triangle. Install the boom into the the slider and tighten the clamp so that it pinches the compression notch. Snug is good enough for now and don't worry about the total length. The chain...

    Quest 451 to 507

After a few rides with the new chainstay, I see a very slight improvement in overall speed, maybe 0.25 mph. I don't climb any better, though. I can still hold 16.6 mph on that same mile-long flat without rain chasing me, so that wasn't a fluke. Tried to set up a segment in Garmin Connect for...

    Triple crankset on QX100

I tried the 12-21 cassette on my Quest 1.0 - which in all important ways is identical to the QX100. Found that for me, I spent all my time shifting. Went back to the wider ratio cassette. I was using a 24-42-54 triple I built especially for this application, and I used an old SunTour derailleur...

    Chainstay length, BB height

Does anyone know how the V20's chainstay length compares to the S30's with the 150 mm extension as they affect the bottom bracket height (relative to the seat pan)?
