    Two Questions

...it's perfect for me. For this bike, I needed four chains to make three, waxing them, and rotating them every 500 miles or so. The chainstay length is commonly chosen based on your X-Seam measurement. Many people prefer to have their feet lower than their hips. Aerodynamics are often improved...

    Silvio 3X10 to 2X11 conversion

Hey David, It sounds like the mechanic at your favorite bike shop will be doing the work, so the only complexity for you is knowing which credit card to put the cost on. To a halfway decent mechanic there's nothing mysterious in setting up the drivetrain on a Cruzbike. The...

Yes, you will most likely need a med or large chainstay - I would guess the large for you since you say you are all legs. Also you can remove the spacers to bring your headtube (and handlebars) down some. I would also ask for the curved slider: this will in effect drop the handlebars more into...

looks like the stock chainstay length. send an email to CruzBike requesting info on the Med or Large chainstay. I'm 6" and upgraded to the Med and love it. You will probably want the large. This will also move the bars closer to your body too.

    Tubeless tires anyone?

when he said he had to top off the tire he meant with more air and not more sealant. it should be noted that sealant will always work better the lower psi you need to run which is why I never recommend it for tires smaller than 28mm or psi over 80psi.

    Tubeless tires anyone?

Two questions. 1) How did you determine that you had to top off the tire before each ride? Did you have visible leakage? 2) Why will you "never go back to tubes"? Is it just the ability to run lower tire pressure or are there other reasons? In my DF gravel racing days I ran tubeless (Panracer...

An S40 update 350 miles in

The existence of multiple length chainstays for the S40 appears to be something of an open secret. I heard about the short chainstay on this forum and could find no reference to it on the Cruzbike commercial website. An email to Cruzbike got an immediate response from Robert explaining their...

    How Far Can I Go

Thank you for your drawing. So, here goes. You were/are correct. I was trying to adjust the position of the cranks for my leg length. For some reason, and perhaps because geometry was never my thing, I thought that there was more than one way of doing that. However, I guess I'd like to see...

Searching out the limits on the V20.

In the county (Washington, MN) I live in, there's ample hills to test ones nerves on. There are a few that if it weren't for side traffic potentially getting involved in your craziness, one could pedal real hard at the start of said hill, stop pedaling, and just lay low for the thrill of trying...

Searching out the limits on the V20.

my fastest garmin recorded speed is 48.5 mph (77kph), and that a bit of a pucker time for me. I just felt the bike was not stable enough, and maybe that was the long chainstay talking, or maybe I just need more practice. I don't know if i will ever have enough opportunities to get comfortable...

    How Far Can I Go

So we can share the same terminology I made this spiffy drawing showing my understanding of what's what. I think (maybe?) this corresponds to official Cruzbike HQ approved terminology ... From the photo included in the original message in this thread showing the chainstay and an arc towards...

An S40 update 350 miles in

New V20 owner and feel that I'm getting very close to having it dialed in, but still feel that the bars are still a little high. I'm 6ft with slightly shorter arms. Not sure what chainstay is stock, haven't changed it. My feet feel good where there at.

The curved slider has a lot to do with the rider's height and the length of the chainstay. At 5'5" I use the short chianstay, and by the time I adjusted it to where I wanted it for my x-seam, the handlebar was too high for my liking. It even obstructed my view. Using the medium chainstay...

Chain jump/slipping when increased pedal force used

That is a good point, as after adjusting the boom length, I forgot to tighten the chainstay clamps, and the front derailleur changing went to pot!!!! When I stopped at the bottom of a long hill, and went to manually move the chain onto the Granny sprocket (EVERONE should have one!!!!), that the...

New V20 Build Saga with Surprising Result

As I wrote, Jack, such a low BB was what I wanted to avoid and figured correctly that I would need the 21 inch chain stay assembly to replicate the geometry I wanted. As it turned out, what I wanted was incorrect- a lower BB actually is better for me. For one thing, it somehow mitigated my...

New V20 Build Saga with Surprising Result

...I've seen in pics appear to have the slider almost parallel with the ground. I'm perplexed that the availability of 3 different chainstay lengths seems to be a CB corporate open secret! CB HQ, if you're listening, please make the various chainstays available on the CB retail website. Thanks...

Too big or too small for Cruzbike? Check the Chart. Take the Poll.

I have a 46+ inch x-seam and have been loving a Silvio 2.0 with 100 mm cc extension (avatar shows bike with previous 150mm ext.) and have just recently been dealing with this whole CB fitting issue as in the past 3 weeks have accomplished 3 complete frame-builds. I stripped the S2.0 of all...

Too big or too small for Cruzbike? Check the Chart. Take the Poll.

5'6.75", 168 lbs and in the green zone on Ken's chart. Is the green zone intended to imply that a buyer can expect the Cruzbike to fit "out of the box", without additional cost mods? Or does the green zone indicate that with sufficient effort and, perhaps, additional expense one can expect to...

Got'cha Benphyr, thanks for the clarification. I guess that should have been obvious, sorry for the confusion. As younger folks like to post on web forums like this, "+1". With any luck there's a photo of the headset area of my partially disassembled S40 attached in my reply. In my case I could...
