    Little tweaks

This was always necessary unless your BB cups are loose in the frame (not screwed all the way).

    "The New Silvio is Coming"

The Fit and Adjustment video shows two different chainstay lengths for the S40 (if you pay attention, the chainrings change position relative to the front tire) and in that video Robert says two lengths are available to customers.

    Front derailleur on V20

Talk to an expert. If you haven't, email Cruzbike support (support@cruzbike.com). They might be busy with RAAM right now. You can also have your local bike shop look at it. They will typically blame the "weird" frame design, but sometimes they point out useful things.

    Front derailleur on V20

Are you shifted to the big chainring or the small chainring when you measure? (Except for Yaw, FD setup is initiated in the small chainring position since there is no cable tension.) Yes, I looked at my bike too.

    Front derailleur on V20

No. http://si.shimano.com/pdfs/dm/DM-FD0002-05-ENG.pdf And other sources (Google it).

    Front derailleur on V20

Ah well, I figured it was a long shot. Your second photo above does look odd to me though, like the derailleur is already shifted up. However I am comparing to my SRAM FD.

    Front derailleur on V20

I would suggest backing it out since it should only take a second to try. The derailleur moves in both directions when you shift.

Is your lower limit screw perhaps screwed in, forcing an upshift?

SRAM Road and MTB Component Compatibility - S40 Build

You might be able to use Rival 22 brifters, Rival 22 FD (or Apex if you don't care about Yaw), and the GX 2x11 RD with pull rate adapter.

SRAM Road and MTB Component Compatibility - S40 Build

I have also read that for 11 speed at least, the SRAM mountain vs. road derailleurs and shift controls have slightly different pull ratios, so mixing those will not work quite right. Look for "exact actuation" versus "x-actuation" branding. If you want 11 speeds, brifters and a 42 tooth cog, I...

Not positive about the S40, but the spacing on the S30 was 132.5.

    Change Quest 2.0 to 3.0?

Aha, looks like they did end up with a bunch of extra clearance after deleting the suspension (assuming these are both stock wheels). Guess you're right.

    Change Quest 2.0 to 3.0?

If the fork height is different (one would expect it to be without suspension), then the steering geometry will change, so you probably don't want to do that.

    "The New Silvio is Coming"

The cable run for rim brakes would be much shorter. For disks you could probably zip tie the housing to one of the stays.

Anyone know what the semicircular part below the seat might be? Out-of-scale frame plug maybe? Seat adjuster?

I thought the original Silvio seat angle was 45 degrees?
