    Cruzbike Time Trial Challenge 2020

Please bear with me for the results. I give everyone until the end of the day on Monday to post their rides. After that it takes me quite a while to get everything finalized and doubled checked. I just sent out the emails to everyone. I will post the Week #2, Week #3 and Week #4 numbers here too

    Cruzbike Time Trial Challenge 2020

I have read that mid sole cleat position allowed upright racers to make more power. I never saw any data on it. Also read that about wider Q factor too. I switched to mid-sole for hot-foot and it helped a lot on long rides. I have switched back and forth between the 2 a lot also and have never...

    Cruzbike Time Trial Challenge 2020

The speed sensor will just give you a more accurate speed in real-time while you are riding, so you can have them both running. Since this challenge is really only based on your Personal Best time, the only real requirement is that you have a segment and the time for the segment - and have them...

    Cruzbike Time Trial Challenge 2020

Just send me an email that you have completed the ride and include the URL of the ride or segment for me. If you name you ride something like: Cruzbike TT - week 3#), then once I am following you I can just pull up your profile for the week and see your ride and the pull the data from there.

    Cruzbike Time Trial Challenge 2020

I have some of the data in spreadsheet format and will send it to you via email Marco As for similar physicality and power - you are too kind - as I can only aspire to come close to yours as a personal goal. I fear the only excuse I can use is "old age"!:rolleyes::rolleyes:

    Cruzbike Time Trial Challenge 2020

Everybody is different, but in my tests I have proven (at least for me), that I loose power making capabilities as I lay in a more reclined position. There might be some amount of "training" in a position that might give your body the ability to adapt to its highest power level at that position...

    Cruzbike Time Trial Challenge 2020

Not sure if you have a power meter or not, but if you have the cash and interest - that would be a great investment. As "nobrakes" said above - it is the best way to gauge performance. Once you know you 1-hr FTP level (avg watts you can put out for an hour), then you can monitor your power...

    Cruzbike Time Trial Challenge 2020

Generally speaking the wind is usually not as bad early in the morning. That is when I would usually do my TT. Now that I have moved to the beach - it seems like it is windy all the time, but still not as severe in the early morning

    Cruzbike Time Trial Challenge 2020

Hey Mathew - Congrats on your fitness level. The "Climbing Road Race" has helped I am sure and has given you a wonderful endurance base to build on. Yes, I would switch over to the 40k block. Since this is an 8 week plan. I would suggest going forward with your mid-volume plan , then take a week...

    Cruzbike Time Trial Challenge 2020

Hello Everyone, Well the first week is over and what a huge turnout! We had 53 people ride their TT for week #1! - a record by far! What a fantastic group and I thank each of you for participating. I counted people from 17 states in the US, and riders from Australia(1), UK(4), New Zealand (1)...

    Cruzbike Time Trial Challenge 2020

The rules state you must ride the same "type" - so you can't start with upright and move to recumbent. But you could ride any recumbent bike if using bents, or any upright bike - reg or TT if starting on upright.

    Cruzbike Time Trial Challenge 2020

We had to pick distance. Sure 12 miles is short to a speedster like you (but just ride a slower bike if you want it to take longer), but we have people riding Quests and S40's and other less efficient bike - some are spending an hour riding as hard as they can. Maybe we should have a total watts...

    Cruzbike Time Trial Challenge 2020

Everyone is a critic! Hey Jason, I am happy to consider other Challenges and we may even add a few if Cruzbike approves of them. But most time trialers will tell you that higher cadence is better because the load on your legs for the same power is significantly less which means you...

    Cruzbike Time Trial Challenge 2020

Just be consistent. I get on the scale each morning in the my birthday suite. It is used for the Watts/KG stat, so less is more, but 1 or 2 lbs of gear is not going to make all that big of a difference.
