Vendetta versus Silvio on less-than-ideal road surfaces

Awesome... Are your S-Ones tubeless? If they are you probably dropped the pressure a tad to make it more confortable? Also Rick do you notice a significant difference? For me when I first got the Vendetta, I went out with 23mm tires fully pumped up and after coming back I thought I would have...

    Carbon Fiber Fun

Sorry about your brother in law. Your carbon creations are great. I use plastic zip ties to support my iPhone holder on one of my bikes but the sun and vibrations weaken them so consequently I have to keep changing them. It's quite amazing how much air rushes over you at speed on the V. So I...

    Deep Rims

I will have to buy you a drink, if I ever see you. That was a great solution. I also used the orange sealant first time. I think it's probably the best sealant there is. With the carbon clincher rim, I will put an inner tube with sealant just for safety's sake.

Any CruzBikers competing in the Race Across the West aka RAW?

Naaaa do it the easy way. Post a package to you on route. Pick it up on route and post back anything you don't need. Or you could buy new shirts and shorts on the way and post them back just so you don't have to carry so much. Or do what the Canadian did in the film "TransAm" and post the meal...

Any CruzBikers competing in the Race Across the West aka RAW?

I saw the film on Apple TV when in Florida. Those riders just go for it. 3 hours sleep a night. One Canadian had his own powder so he could mix and just drink replacement meals for 15 days on the go as he needed a little more sleep than three hours a night. I reckon they just had a fleecy...

    Absolute Black Oval Chainring

Love the Oval... Saved my knees and does the business. Works better with larger cranks than 155mm (as far as I can tell) but more swing on the front steering if the wind is howling.

    Deep Rims

This looks well good, I like eating pie, even if it's humble. Guess I do a halfway house and stick an inner tube with sealant. Good to know you found a link. I like the idea that due to my perseverance that you have ordered a front wheel that reduces the amount you fall off. I did a 50km ride...

    Hello, recumbent noob

LOL, I don't even like to change chainwheel now, if there is no on coming traffic I take a wider racing line when cornering

    Deep Rims

I will monitor it... I will mark a white line around the rim and then before every ride/during; I can look at the rim and see how it's travelled. Ironically the aura5 Bontrager carbon wheel won't hold the air and that is tubeless compatible. I haven't quite given up yet. It's a weird one. I...

    Hello, recumbent noob

That Silvio looks like great fun... wait to you get on a V20 :D You are doing great... Just love Cruzbike. I came off the handlebars of a mountain bike the other year, it takes ages for the pain to go but once you are on the Silvio / Vendetta ... you forget everything and just get a great big grin.

    Deep Rims

I haven't quite given up the idea. Be rest assured I am very astute when it comes to safety. Yes I realize that the rim is for clincher and that is why I chose R3 Bontrager TLR tires which are sold as a clincher tubeless ready. I did buy the version before that being the R2 TLR as this is...

    Urinating on ultras

I live in a hot climate. I also sweat a lot even in a gym,I always thought if you don't sweat it's not a workout. I tend not to pee but after suffering kidney stones , the doctor told me, "if you need to pee, pee". For me it's not worth holding it in. The pain of kidney stones is not to be...

    Deep Rims

www.light-bicycle.com is one of those companies that you can negotiate with. I have lighter spokes on this and the hub has ceramic bearings. So I am good to go. They even give you cork brake pads to go with the carbon wheel.

    Deep Rims

Well I have sized up and read a lot. It appears a 25mm tyre is best for a 23mm rim. My inner rim is 17mm as far as I can tell as the rim has a lip for a clincher tyre. I guess if I ran 26mm tyres on a 23mm rim I would loose a percentage of the aerodynamics but not sure how much...

    Deep Rims

I am going to use Bontrager; their sealant is good and their tires are a little more forgiving.

    Deep Rims

The rim outer width ordered was for a 23mm so pretty sure the inner width is a little larger than 17mm, when I get back tonight I will measure up. I was going to put a 26mm tubeless tire on it at the weekend. The freehub is a lot louder than my Mavics. Guess that could be a good thing unless...

    Deep Rims

So going tubeless on a 80mm deep rim, what sort of valve to get in order to make this wheel tubeless? I bought this from www.light-bicycle.com , and it looks pretty good. Keep you posted...

    Vendetta Winterizing

Hey Joe, I know this subject is close to your heart. I couldn't find the old thread to post it on so I knew you would like to read about it. It's on the subject of frame consistency. Carbon / aluminium trade offs. After the correspondence we had there seem to have developments on Kickstarter...

I suspect, that the cleats work best in their most rearest position (nearest to the heel)?

    First ride

you are not alone. Mine are probably like yours with carbon soles. I am interested in seeing the power transfer in both torque and how its spread out on the foot. I decided on look ceo 2 max. What about you and how is your wrist; you must be itching to get out on the road by now?
