    Where are all the recumbents?

64t is a big chainwheel. Is the cog correspondingly huge? If you give it shorter cranks, you effectively have higher gears

    Where are all the recumbents?

Is the chainring home-made? I think it is square taper. What is wrong with square taper? My Grasshopper is square taper.

    Remember to tie it down.

    Recommendations on lighting

A long time ago I posted on this forum about being blinded and really annoyed by oncoming car headlights. Last night I was riding towards a cyclist with a really horrible bright light on his head. I have A Schmidt dynamo and Edelux. Looks bright from where I sit. Never seen it coming towards me.

    Where are all the recumbents?

Non-hijack of thread: I did the London Critical Mass a few times on my Grasshopper and there was always a few 'bents there. And hand-bikes. Hijack of thread: That Zockra is too low for the cracked, cratered and speed-bumped streets of London.

    I cut the boom

No terrifying brake failures so far. Someone somewhere on the net said that with Nokon the inners stretch really badly. Not in my case so far.

    Update on Abbott

I think that is untestable. You have to stop cycling, so you will lose your fitness. Catch-22.

    I cut the boom

The Hylex brakes kept leaking. Front and back. New o-rings, more fluid, more fluid. Fluid everywhere, can't stop. I gave up and got TRP Hy-rd. These are hydraulic, with the reservoirs built into the callipers, and actuated with Bowden cables. I got TRP levers, the same shape as the Hylex...

Something (really stupid) happened on the way to the Park

Larry manages to fall off without even being on the bike. Glad you and the bike are okay. Amazing that all the drivers avoided hitting it. Did it really lift, or just fall out backwards? Larry is getting so fast that he will probably be flying his V soon. These bikes really do climb.

A Vendetta with that thing would live up to its name.

UMCA Century Road Record Attempt - Oct 11, 2015

UMCA fastest ever! Mr O is older than me (52) but is faster than I will ever be, even if I got a Vendetta. When I am hurtling down a steep hill I will try to imagine that it is flat and I am a gnome.

    Seat Mod

Looks similar to the Grasshopper seat, on which I never notice the upward curve

    Positive thoughts for Abbott

Diabetes, virus, blackout, bang on the coconut, heart attack. Recovering. Goes to show how tough the MBB people are. I like the sound of Abbott's employer though. A week off? You're having a laugh. Lifting restrictions? ******* wuss.

I agree with Lief again. And with DuncanWatson. Fall to the left. If you are in Oz or Dear Old Blighty you protect your mirror too.
