    Touring and rail trail tires

Many rims are tubeless compatible once you tape up the rim bed with tubeless tape. What mostly matters is that the tires are tubeless ready.

Battle of the Brands - Bike Sebring 2020

I don't jump into pacelines either for the same reasons. But if a DF latches on, I'm good with that and will just keep my pace and hold my line. Good job on Sebring, y'all. Living here in California made it a little far away for me.

Battle of the Brands - Bike Sebring 2020

To Paul's question... I'm about 3 to 4 mph faster on my V20 than I am on my S40. I also find the V to be more comfortable over a long haul.

    V20 Assembly

I use the Zefal Spy mirrors on my V20--one on each side, about 4 inches out from center, where they stay out of the way of hand positions. When I was starting out five years ago, these mirrors didn't seem adequate, but over time I became used to them. Now they serve me well, have for a long...

    Which model

I would also recommend the S40. I owned an older Quest model, but still similar to the current Q45. I enjoyed it pretty well, but sold it to buy a S40, which I have enjoyed more. It does most kinds of riding at least pretty well. It is lighter and more spry than the Q, without being as...

An S40 update 350 miles in

Good write up. It took me probably 2000 miles on the V20 before I felt like I had my bent legs, but once I got there, what was my 18-19mph all-day cruising speed on my DF bike became 23-24mph on the V. And because the V is sooo-oo much more comfortable, what used to be...

    S40 as touring bike

I haven't done any loaded touring on a CB (yet), but I ride both a V20 and S40, and can see either one working. The setup would be different for each because the V lacks braze-ons, but I find the V to be quite a bit more comfortable, so I wouldn't discount it as a decent tourer.

    Vendetta for sale

Yes, that's a 2.0. Same as what I have, but about 25,000 miles newer. Great bike at an awesome price!

Looking to try out and/or buy a Vendetta,S30, or S40 in Florida.

Ha! Congrats. Be patient and enjoy. The learning curve was steep for me, but once I got over it, it has been totally worth it.

    New V20, New to Cruzbike

I run 36/50 oval rings, with a Shimano Dura Ace derailleur and have never had shifting issues, once it is dialed in. But if I needed an adapter, the bit from wickwerks.com listed above looks like the most elegant solution and should do the trick, even down to a 46.

MI Cruzbike retreat 2020 - August 6-9, 2020 Benton Harbor Michigan

I second the idea of a California CB retreat. And while yes, good route planning is important, some of our best rides are that way because of those nasty climbs.:emoji_thumbsup::emoji_thumbsup:

    S30 for sale < 200 miles

Chiming in with a side note: I own and ride a V20, S30, and S40. While I put the most miles on the V20, I love riding the S30. It is great for centuries and fast social rides. It is the "just right" middle ground between the V20 and S40. Cruzbike doesn't make it anymore, and they come up...

    Steering damper/stabilizer

I'm no engineer, as some of you obviously are, but when I am descending and either the road is chunky or the crosswinds are swirling, I will stabilize myself by pedaling rather than coasting. I'm not necessarily pedaling to keep up with the bike, for I spin out at about 38 mph, and I might be...

Impressions After 200 miles on a Vendetta

Glad to hear it! It'll keep getting better and better.

    Acclimating to the V20

For me, the longer segments are easier to KOM. The short ones can be real pukers. Have fun!

Looking to buy a Vendetta V20 in Europe

The red one is more current. The main frame and seat pan only come in one size, but the headrest and boom are very adjustable. I am even shorter than you (165cm). I went with a short chainstay and curved slider and it fits me very well.

    Curved slider opinions

I have curved sliders on both my V20 and S30, and it was a good move in both cases.

    I think I want a V20....

Just be careful. The n + 1 equation for number of bikes in the garage might apply. I bought my Vendetta four years ago as my first ever recumbent after 27 years on an upright. Now I own three CBs: The V for fast solo rides and centuries, an S30 for (still fast) social rides and centuries...
