Ok all - there is not much different here than the QX100 other than no rear suspension. The front end is 95% the same as a QX100 other than some differences in the fork - but the QX100 fork already can take a 2" wide tire.
This is correct - no springs. They are only to center the skewer on a typical wheel to make removal/install easier for convenience - they have no other function. Sice the front has to be removed all the way they are only a PITA. :-)
Unless you ride a trike - the right one - you can't understand the appeal. It also requires a paradigm shift in how you think about riding. They are not always slower than their two wheel counterparts - so direct comparisons to why one or the other is "better" is moot unless you have specifics...
This is correct. The build at the show was for display only. Note that before everyone gets over excited here as tends to be the case that we are ironing out some final issues for this frame to make it a good one.
I had a chance to ride this at the 2016 RCC. It was interesting, but IMHO as a bike mechanic and someone who rides a LOT of different bikes it is not ready for prime time. I didn't get a chance to ride it in bike form, just in its trike arrangement.
Hmmm. That part is pre-installed from our factory and I did not see anything out of the ordinary when I did the build. Ill take a look at mine here and a few others to see if there is any difference.

Here are the parts for people who might be able to source them. For me - having to order through a supplier this can be a real hassle when things are out of stock (which is often in the US)

We are riding those pedals now and having some great experience so far. I am planning on riding them for Cycle Oregon this year and ditching the cleats entirely that week for a full blown test.
No promises but as ratz stated I am testing the dampener that we played with for a short time at the retreat. If I think it is worthy of actual consideration I will test in on Cycle Oregon in September - but only if I think it is a viable add on that will not suddenly fail on me.
