    2019 S40 coming soon!

Titanium is a horrible recumbent frame material IMHO. Good for uprights where you can have short tubes. Too flexy for recumbents. My opinion of course.

    Crash due to flat tire

My current favorite tire is the Michelin Pro 4 Endurance. Fast and LOADS of cornering grip. Clinchers and tubes. No mess no fuss on and off the rims without tools (but not TOO easily on and off) Win.

    Crash due to flat tire

All - Yikes. I don't like reading about wrecks. Accidents happen. Glad people are recovering! That said - Please do not re-bend chainrings and stuff to "fix" them. You can never get it exactly straight again and risk the chain dropping at a most inopportune time. Replace any and all broken or...

    Standard QR everyone.

    Starting to assemble my Franken-T

Not as easy as that - the S40 is still THE S40. IMHO this is a workable idea for "S40 like" but the stiffness, etc of the frame is not the same. Will be watching though to see how it goes. Robert

    Robert's V20 build

The S40 is the best ride for traffic. The V is a race bike IMHO - but I don't commute on one or ride in traffic. The S40 is actually faster in that environment. Robert

    S40 to V20 frame compabilty

They are the same and indeed the parts could be swapped, with the exception that the S40 requires disc brakes. There might be some redo of cabling as well since the riders poison and the location of the boom/slider will likely be different on each bike even with the same rider. Robert

    Generic upgrade concepts

I highly doubt anything will ever topple the simplicity, efficiency, and durability of the standard chain drivetrain and derraileur. Its 2018 with 100 plus years of development and a better option still has not been invented. Old school.

SRAM Rival YAW front mech woes continue!

I have SRAM Yaw front DR on all my bikes and it is awesome when set up just right. The above video is a pretty good one. The too-large gap on a cruzbike from a 50T ring has not typically been an issue, but definitely can be if the adjustment is not spot on.

    Q45 (100 miles) vs Q2 (9000) compared

There are definitely some nuanced changes to the Q45 frame over the old Q frame - they are 98% similar but the small changes made a big difference in ride quality.

    THE NEW Q IS COMING

I am interested in the fact the rear arm is a bit tight for the spread - ill have to investigate this from a manufacturing standpoint for the next run. I have noticed it being a bit tight as well but have been able to get the wheels in by hand without problems. Robert

    V20 Build - MBB newbie

I am not sure why so many are having issues with the Yaw style from DR, I have used one for a handful of years since they came out and have never had shifting issues. It is too far from the ring than ideal, but it has not caused me headaches for the most part.

The compact chainring front mech issues thread

This is a real challenge and more and more people are asking for smaller rings - but with" stock" parts (The hanger is a stock part right out of the road bike catalog) you cannot have it both ways. The newer FD mount on the next run of stays (a ways out and I still need to get through the...

Zwift - Cruzbike Activities (races and group rides)

Haven't done much "racing" on Zwift and have been trying to get on there more, but find it easier to just hop on the trainer and blast music and ride as opposed to going through the log-in and setting a ride hassle. Maybe I am over thinking the Zwift thing and I should just ride around in there...

    THE NEW Q IS COMING

I will be eagerly following all these as they get built. With how the S40 type of front end adjusts, getting the cable housing lengths right was a challenge and I decided to err on a bit too long as opposed to having them be too short for a portion of the riding population. I have found that the...

    S40 Versus the new Q

From putting a zillion miles on both: The S40 is a serious road tourer. Peel off the miles on the road. Lighter. 700c awesomeness. It can be very fast - and it climbs like a goat. It is a TRUE road bike. A no compromise road machine? S40 The Q45 is the "rough and tumble" cousin. It has the...

    THE NEW Q IS COMING

Hey all - The Q45's have been steadily going out. PLEASE make sure you review the assembly video and instructions in full. There are some things to keep your eyes open for during assembly for proper adjustment, etc. Hopefully you won't have any issues and the few I saw were isolated, but they...
