noticed a Cruzbike home page feature...

I miss Elliot too. I wonder what he's up to now? I remember when they made that video with him at the first gathering of the tribe in Camas, WA.

noticed a Cruzbike home page feature...

The best thing the Parkers did with Cruzbike was to do away with the dual suspension road bikes. Bye bye to the Q559, the Sofrider and it's cousin the Freerider and the various iterations of suspended Silvios. Bye bye to clunky, heavy bikes and hello to swifter, lighter, and better handling bikes.

I pedaled today: Question on foot steering

I have large, pinned flat pedals on my T50 and any kind of shoe works okay. I use SPDs with mt bike shoes on the Silvio and Vendetta.

I pedaled today: Question on foot steering

Terrarium, it just takes awhile to get the hang of riding a Cruzbike. Many have thrown in the towel along the way so kudos to you for sticking out the learning curve. To get back to your original question, no, you do not steer with your feet, at least I never do. Your upper body is key to...

S40 Enroute: Did I choose right?

I've always thought the Extrawheel trailer would be a great trailer for the V. It is single wheel, light and just carries a set of panniers.

Securing Boom Arm to Frame so Twist and Fall Doesn't Happen !

Why not just flip the front wheel all the way around to the left so it is almost pointing back and lean the bike against whatever upright support is available? This is what I do on my Vendetta and Silvio. My T50 has a Cruzbike kickstand.

    Florida Safari

I lived in Orlando for 28 years and was a member/board member of the FL Freewheelers club that puts on this ride. I have done the ride many times, including when it was a true safari and took a different route every year, never spending more than 2 nights in one spot. The logistics of that...

    Why drop bars?

Some folks here have made use of bullhorn bars and seem to be pleased with them. I believe that is the setup Larry Oz uses. On my Vendetta and Silvio I find that the wide drop bars are supremely comfortable. I keep my hands on the bar ends just below the brifters and never change my position...

Working my way back (third time is the charm)

It's great to have you back. I was wondering what happened to you. You are a veritable store house of knowledge on everything Cruzbike related. Now if we could just hear from Elliot...

Has anyone upgraded from a Freestyle to an S40 or V20?

I started out with a Silvio 2.0, sold it a few years later and got a Vendetta and also purchased from a local man a Freerider and a Silvio 1.0. You will really enjoy the performance of the S40 over the heavy Freerider with the clunky suspension. I gave mine away and got a T50 which is great...

Huh, I started a reply to this and got distracted. I didn't know it posted. Might as well finish my answer. Yes, it does get better Libraman. What you need to do is use your arms to counteract the pressure on the boom/front wheel. You do this not by pulling hard but by stiffening your...

LOL, there used to be a guy on BentRiderOnLine who tried a Cruzbike, I'm not sure what model, and determined that it was dangerous. His exact words were "I had to get rid this bike before it killed me". Every time someone posted something positive about Cruzbikes he would pop up with how...

    New member T 50

I looked over Libraman's post again and saw the question about whether to use clipped in pedals or flats. I swing both directions, using SPD's on my Vendetta and Silvio and large flats with pins on the T50. I use the T50 as my around town, jump on and go bike and I didn't want the time consuming...

    New member T 50

Greetings Libraman, It took me about 2 months before I felt comfortable riding my Silvio 2.0 in group rides with vehicular traffic. I had purchased it w/o ever seeing or test riding a Cruzbike. I was awed by Maria Parker's win in the Race Across America and determined to find a recumbent that...

Chesapeake and Ohio Canal Trail ride?

My wife and I did the C&O and the GAP trail ride in 06 on our Rans recumbent tandem. This was a sagged camping ride with Adventure Cycling. I believe we had 1.5" tires on our tandem and did just fine. There was a lady on an Easy Racers LWB who also had no problem. One young man on a Green...

    Fairings! Does anyone use Fairings!

I'm thinking they might present a danger for an MBB bike. If a cross wind were to catch the fairing it could steer you right off the road.

Where do you all carry your water?

One under the boom (it has to be moved down far enough so it won't hit you in the chest when you sit up) and extras under the seat pan.

    Florida Cruzbike Owners

I did that ride twice when I lived in FL - both times on DF bikes. Managing pain was my main concern on these long distance rides before I went bent. The 1st year I did it on my Klein MTB with 1" tires. Ooh that was rough! The 2nd time I had a road bike which was somewhat better but lots of...

    T50 Frame Set Black/Blue - NIB - $1,350 - Clarkrange, TN

I bought my red Vendetta, signed by Jim & Maria Parker, from Lyle in 2017. I just had this sweet, fast bike out for a ride today.

    Silvio 2.1 bag advice

I used a Bacchetta Brain Bag on my Silvio 2.0 and when I turned in the Silvio for a Vendetta I was able to adapt the newer version of the Brain Bag to the V. The Brain Bag will hold alot without any rattles like a hard case might do and it is out of the windstream. I believe I ordered mine form...
