I put a 1x11 Rival 1 drivetrain on my Quest. Using a Rival 1 long-cage derailleur, pc-1130 chain, and Rival brifters. The cassette is a Sunrace 11-42 11-speed. No problems whatsoever. Very quiet and easy shifting. I've used this with both 26in and 650b wheels.

I am in Madison but did not run across your post until today. Have a modified Q559 (a "Q650b") that I use for commuting and trail rides. I also know of one other recumbent rider in Madison that was planning to buy an S30 frame set. Haven't checked with him to see if he got it built up yet...

Rick, thanks for the comments. Just to clarify: the seat pictured is a Thorseat carbon Easy model, not a Volae Carbon Comfort. However, the mount holes in my Thorseat are exactly the same as those in a stock Volae seat, so the Volae fits readily to the bike. I have a Volae seat here also...
