    11 speed drive train

I put a 1x11 Rival 1 drivetrain on my Quest. Using a Rival 1 long-cage derailleur, pc-1130 chain, and Rival brifters. The cassette is a Sunrace 11-42 11-speed. No problems whatsoever. Very quiet and easy shifting. I've used this with both 26in and 650b wheels.

    Madison, WI Cruzbike owners

I am in Madison but did not run across your post until today. Have a modified Q559 (a "Q650b") that I use for commuting and trail rides. I also know of one other recumbent rider in Madison that was planning to buy an S30 frame set. Haven't checked with him to see if he got it built up yet...

    Q559

I should have responded earlier. Sorry. Yep, I did the LSD ride in Chicago, two years in a row. It's a great event. Ray

    Q559

I have an original Q559 wheelset (with the SRAM Dual Drive) and all of the drivetrain except the elliptical crankset that I am preparing to put up for sale. It will effectively convert your QX100 to a Quest 559 but without the elliptical chainring. The wheels are in excellent shape and I just...

    Tire pressure talk

This finding of suspension losses at higher pressures has been talked about by Jan Heine and the Compass Cycle people for several years. It is good to see it confirmed. I've started to take it seriously with my Q650b, and so far the (anecdotal) results seem pretty surprising. I'm running 584...

Quest 1.0 upgrade query - Brakes

The TRP Spyre self-centering mechanical brakes work great on my V3 Quest. Quiet, strong, and easy centering without going to hydraulics.. Super Slim indicates they'll also work on a V1. However, if you are keeping long-pull brake levers, you'll want to consider the TRP Spyke instead. Spyke...

    a Trail Quest, or Q650b ...

Rick, thanks for the comments. Just to clarify: the seat pictured is a Thorseat carbon Easy model, not a Volae Carbon Comfort. However, the mount holes in my Thorseat are exactly the same as those in a stock Volae seat, so the Volae fits readily to the bike. I have a Volae seat here also...

    a Trail Quest, or Q650b ...

So, with the first tests under my belt, and a feeling that this is a keeper, I upgraded some parts to make it more functional. Version 2: Q650b Drivetrain upgrade Changes from Version 1 (and reasons): Drivetrain: change to 1 x 11 SRAM 11-speed road group - Provides an extra lower...

    a Trail Quest, or Q650b ...

The lower clamp is there to stiffen the boom assembly a bit. On the Cruzbike video about adjusting the QX100, Robert noted that the front derailleur cable stop slightly pinched the TFT and may have to be loosened to move the boom. So I shaved the lip off a Salsa seat clamp and put it there...

    a Trail Quest, or Q650b ...

Hi. I’ve been following the forum for the past few years, and thought it was time make a small contribution. Please excuse the long narrative. My back story (skip if you wish). I’ve kept a V2 Q451 Quest, converted to a Q559, out at my in-laws on the west coast for the past two years, and...

    Boom - QX100

I think I wasn't clear. I recall the v3 Q559 specs said the bike could handle 1.5 inch wide 26-in tires. However, the QX100 specs say (cryptically): "Tires:Innova 26x. 1.5 will take up 2 inch". If this means the QX100 can handle 2 inch wide 26-in tires, I assume the fork and rear swingarm...

    Boom - QX100

Long-time lurker here, but just have to comment on the QX100. I've been thinking about getting another Quest since my v2 Q451/Q599 resides at the in-laws on the west coast. The QX100 may make a good frame kit for a build I have in mind. However, I am confused by the specs. It seems to...
