You may be able to get away with reversing the seat mounting base 180, if your OK with a bit more nose-up. That moves the seat back and lower.

I got a NOS green T50 frame that has not been built, and am thinking of making a tall front, kind of like a Q45. So it would be a longer reach for the two tubes, but about what you have, so I'm happy! :)

So close, but so far! You can get 38mm short stems. They were made for freeride and downhill MTB's. I have one one on my 38.1mm boom. And the bar clamp is 31.8. Might also work if the ID of your boom is similar to the OD of the extension part of a another stem, you could weld it into the end of...

So I know a few of the speedy folk here are using deep section carbon rims. Does wind effect the steering at all? With the extra strength and damping of the legs, I would think any wind twitchiness would get just get absorbed and not really matter. Is that the case?

You can get your seat lower on the bike if you reverse the seat mounting plate 180 degrees. It fits either way. It'll be a bit more nose up, but workable. Not only does it move it down, but back a little as well. Then your cranks can be a little higher.

I did. I also had to make a flat spot for the bolt heads to sit. But I only had to drill out the top. The big bolt that holds everything together clamps the bottom part. So I only needed the two little bolts at the top...

So I combined these into a single unit with protruding parts on either side (there single sided initially)...
