You should be able to find real mineral spirits, MEK, and a few other chemicals at your local Home Depot.

Would gusseting that triangle work as well as stays? My thought is that gusseting would take vertical as well as horizontal stresses, whereas stays may only take vertical stresses.

I forgot to mention how instrumental that tip was to me as well. My thought was to keep my shoulders level while turning, which achieved the shoulder drop for me. Good call Zzzorse!

I think the Sofrider is the right bike fer sure. There are no centuries or tours in my future; not even commuting. I got the bike hoping to use it to get into a shape other than round. I do think that the TFT is out a bit for me, but since I rode it so well I'm reluctant to change anything...

Not sure if anyone's tried it, but I'd think carpet padding would work, which is available in various densities and can normally be obtained in small quantities from carpet retailers for free. MTCW, YMMV
