Look out here come the Chinese

From personal experience through a former employer who sourced ~75% of product from China: American and Chinese negotiations are opposite approaches. In America, we decide on a product then negotiate pricing. In China, pricing is decided and then the product is built to that price point...

Chain WAXing (yes it's that easy) - and other mysteries of this art!

Ah, the memories...if I could remember...in my first job in printing we used buckets of MEK, toluene, NPA, and hexene press side as ink thinners. Each one gave the ink different drying times. The hexene was fun, as a shot glass full, thrown on the floor, disappears in less than a minute! Went...

Chain WAXing (yes it's that easy) - and other mysteries of this art!

You should be able to find real mineral spirits, MEK, and a few other chemicals at your local Home Depot.

    while saving for a v20 I made .....

Would gusseting that triangle work as well as stays? My thought is that gusseting would take vertical as well as horizontal stresses, whereas stays may only take vertical stresses.

An idea for beginners & those kicking the tires...

I forgot to mention how instrumental that tip was to me as well. My thought was to keep my shoulders level while turning, which achieved the shoulder drop for me. Good call Zzzorse!

An idea for beginners & those kicking the tires...

When I was taking my test ride on my Sofrider, I kept three things in mind. A couple of these may be helpful to other people. First, follow the wisdom laid down here. That's why I started out with flintstoning. Second, smooth on the pedals. My thought process was more along the lines of...

    Conversion kit on BROL

Of course this comes up after I bought my Sofrider. I had grand visions of procuring a kit & building a fat bike conversion, as there are a plethora of those around here. Oh well...

I don't, Tim, but I do live in a quiet, somewhat secluded neighborhood. My plan is to familiarize myself with the bike here before venturing out.

    SOLD - - - - - - - - - Sofrider - $550 - Crystal Beach, FL

I think the Sofrider is the right bike fer sure. There are no centuries or tours in my future; not even commuting. I got the bike hoping to use it to get into a shape other than round. I do think that the TFT is out a bit for me, but since I rode it so well I'm reluctant to change anything...

    SOLD - - - - - - - - - Sofrider - $550 - Crystal Beach, FL

This followed me home :emoji_blush: A few minutes of flintstoning, a couple short ride attempts, and then a ride around the parking lot we met in, most of the ride fully reclined. The owner, and I, were surprised that I was able to ride it as well as I did. Chalk one up for ratz & this forum...

Anyone willing to talk to a reporter about ED and cycling?

Pretty sure it was. The Freerider dates it as being from a few years ago.

FWD MBB with 100 degrees steering angle and negative offset.

Gears could work, and would be more dependable than a cable. If you worked out your angles, you should be able to find something that would work, perhaps even something off the shelf, cheap and readily available. The Cruzbike Sigma used a universal joint for steering, but I think the angle...

    Headrest foam sources

Not sure if anyone's tried it, but I'd think carpet padding would work, which is available in various densities and can normally be obtained in small quantities from carpet retailers for free. MTCW, YMMV

If this has come up in this discussion, please forgive me for...

This post confirms your intent, and your heart, in this matter. No worries! If I were to have come up with something as great as your seat clamp, I would shout from the rooftops until moderated!
